MicroStrategy Developer

MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is seeking an experienced MicroStrategy Developer to support Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for the United States Postal Service (USPS). In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and data models using the MicroStrategy platform to transform raw data into meaningful insights for business and technical stakeholders.

You will work closely with engineering teams, analysts, and leadership to deliver high-quality data visualization and reporting solutions that support enterprise decision-making. This position plays an important role in modernizing reporting capabilities and improving data accessibility for USPS programs.

This role is based on site at the USPS Engineering Systems campus in the Mosaic District of Merrifield, VA, with convenient shuttle access to the Dunn Loring-Merrifield Metro Station. After several months of onsite work, 1 day per week of telework is approved.

Responsibilities

• Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and dossiers using the MicroStrategy platform.
• Create and maintain BI data models and schemas to support enterprise reporting needs.
• Migrate existing SAP Crystal Reports pages to the MicroStrategy platform.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve and transform data from enterprise data sources.
• Work with relational databases and ETL processes to ensure accurate and efficient data integration.
• Manage and maintain MicroStrategy objects and migrate projects using Object Manager.
• Troubleshoot system performance issues and optimize reporting solutions for efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and deliver data-driven insights.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience developing solutions using MicroStrategy tools.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, relational databases, and data modeling.
• Experience working with Oracle databases and PL/SQL.
• Experience developing BI reports and dashboards in enterprise environments.
• Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (pivot tables), Access, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
• Ability to travel and work flexible hours when needed.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• MicroStrategy certification or status as a MicroStrategy Certified Professional.
• Experience migrating legacy reporting tools such as SAP Crystal Reports to modern BI platforms.
• Experience supporting federal government or federal contractor environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance-optimization skills for enterprise BI platforms.
