wright-patterson afb, OH (On-Site/Office)
MTSI is seeking a Senior Logistics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide integrated logistics support (ILS) analysis and strategic guidance to an AFLCMC System Program Office (SPO). The SME will apply deep domain knowledge to guide the development, implementation, and lifecycle management of the complete supportability concept for advanced weapon systems.
As the principal logistics advisor to the SPO, User community, and relevant MAJCOMs, the SME will analyze mission requirements and system designs to establish a robust and sustainable maintenance and support strategy. This involves integrating all elements of logistics-including maintenance planning, supply support, support equipment, and technical data-by synthesizing input from operators, maintainers, engineers, and product support managers. The SME will ensure the resulting logistics framework is accurately captured in technical orders and directives and will provide expert analysis throughout the system's certification and validation process.
Furthermore, the SME will assess the logistical footprint of all proposed weapon system modifications and modernization efforts, identifying risks and providing recommendations to ensure long-term supportability and readiness. They will serve as a key technical reviewer for sustainment-related documentation and directives being issued to the field.
Candidates must have comprehensive expertise in USAF logistics principles, with extensive experience interpreting and applying technical guidance from TO 00-5-1, TO 00-20-1, AFI 21-101, AFPD 21-3, and AFI 21-303. The ability to analyze complex sustainment challenges and communicate findings clearly is essential for mission success. The position requires daily work in Top Secret (TS) Special Access Program (SAP) and Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) environments and demands significant experience with handling highly classified documentation.
How you will contribute to our National Security and Defense mission:
By developing and managing the foundational maintenance concept that ensures our critical weapon systems are safe, reliable, and always ready to support the mission.
You'll be a great fit for this role if:
• Self-motivated with a work ethic that the mission comes first
• Have good communications skills
• Detail oriented
• Passionate about supporting our warfighters
Responsibilities:
Qualifications Required:
Master's degree and 19+ years' business, operations, planning, science, engineering, or mathematics experience, or bachelor's degree and 21+ years' business, operations, planning, science, engineering, or mathematics experience.
Even better if you have these desired skills:
• Work experience in a TS/SCI/SAP environment
Clearance Requirements:
• Must possess an active DoD Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility)
• Due to clearance requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required
