Description
This Department of War enterprise data and analytics program delivers mission-critical capabilities that enable leaders across the Department to make faster, better-informed decisions using trusted data at scale. Leidos Digital Modernization sector is seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer to support the delivery, enhancement, and adoption of enterprise data and analytics products used across multiple DoD organizations.
In this role, you will work alongside government partners, engineers, and other industry teammates to translate operational and strategic requirements into scalable, production-ready solutions. You will contribute directly to product planning, execution, and continuous improvement—helping ensure capabilities are delivered efficiently, aligned to mission priorities, and positioned for sustained success.

Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the Release Train Engineer (RTE) for the WDP Agile Release Train, leading and facilitating PI Planning, ART Sync, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt events, and Scrum of Scrums.
- Drive end-to-end coordination of cross-team dependencies supporting delivery of WDP capabilities including DevSecOps pipelines, software baselines, cybersecurity artifacts, enterprise data tooling, and release management processes.
- Lead program-level execution tracking using Agile metrics (e.g., predictability measures, burndown/burnup charts, flow metrics) and ensure alignment to contractual deliverables and milestones.
- Partner with Product Management, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Engineering, and Operations leads to ensure integration across technical workstreams described in the TOR.
- Identify, escalate, and help remove impediments that span multiple Agile teams and external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain risk management, dependency tracking, and decision governance mechanisms across the ART.
- Coach Scrum Masters and team leads in SAFe principles, Agile best practices, DevSecOps integration, and continuous improvement.Support compliance with release governance, cybersecurity controls, and operational readiness requirements across all supported security enclaves.
- Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement while maintaining mission continuity and delivery predictability.
- Provide direct supervision and performance management for assigned Scrum Masters and Agile practitioners.
- Conduct performance reviews, goal setting, coaching, and professional development planning.
- Support succession planning and talent pipeline development within the Agile delivery organization.
Basic Qualifications
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 10 years of prior relevant experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading Agile teams or programs in a SAFe or large-scale Agile environment.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a Release Train Engineer (RTE) or equivalent enterprise Agile leadership role for large, complex IT or data platforms.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams delivering software engineering, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, and enterprise data capabilities in a cloud-based environment.
- Proven experience managing dependencies, risks, and execution across multiple Agile teams supporting enterprise-scale platforms.
- Experience developing and reporting program-level metrics to senior leadership and Government stakeholders.
- Experience leading teams supporting DoD or other Federal Government enterprise IT environments.
- SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or equivalent Agile certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI access.
- Experience supporting enterprise data, AI/ML, or DevSecOps platforms in DoD cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, SC2S, or equivalent).
- Experience supporting programs operating under cost-reimbursable or award-fee contract structures.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent advanced program management certification.
- Experience facilitating Agile transformations within large, mission-critical Federal programs.
