Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Technician III located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- 5 years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or 2 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 3 years of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area; and the following additional requirements.
- Mechanical - At least 4 years of the 5 years' experience must include successful completion of 1 year of vocational/military/technical school training in practical or industrial arts and a minimum of 2 years of mechanical fabrication and structural/fixture setup supporting engineering or testing of military hardware.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance.
- Liquid-Propellant-Action-Response-Team (LPART) certified or the ability to obtain once hired.
- Have or obtain Class "A" CDL with hazmat endorsement.
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- Thorough, detail oriented, and organized, with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Industrial Maintenance/Mechanical A.A.S, or Aerospace Technology A.A.S preferred.
- Industrial pipe fitting experience a plus.
- Welding experience a plus.
- Experience working with engineers and senior management required.
- Exceptional customer relationship management highly desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support mechanical operations in and around Test Stand/fixtures. Operate and maintain equipment for test support. Comprehend various test setups and lead the mechanical responsibilities while following applicable standard operating procedures.
- Operate forklifts from Class VII and below, mobile and overhead crane, and other similar equipment.
- Interface with Government customers, and other agency representatives.
- Some travel may be required.
