Position Summary
The Quality Engineer will help develop and deploy a clear and robust overall operational systems strategy in order to achieve manufacturing consistency, drive continual improvement and reduce product defects and human error. The Quality Engineer supports the quality organization by developing, implementing and administering various methods and procedures to ensure product quality. Design and plan system and process audits to assure potential defects are minimized and product and system quality levels are maintained. Investigate root cause and implement corrective actions to assure efficient and effective system execution. Audit product and processes as required including vendor surveillance.

Design and plan system and process audits to assure potential defects are minimized and product and system quality levels are maintained. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Work under minimal to self-directed guidance of Quality Manager sustaining and continually improving the Quality Management System to satisfy all Customer, Regulatory, Safety and Corporate requirements in the 14 CFR 145 Repair Station
- Create, maintain and direct Quality Control functions with a strong focus on required Audits and inspect to sustain and continually improve the Quality Management System to satisfy all Regulatory, AS9100, AS9102 First Article Inspection
- Schedule, perform and provide guidance to Functional Managers on all required audits
- Continually improve processes related to Quality, business goals, and objectives
- Read and interpret Quality processes and Audits, Manufacture's Maintenance manuals, Service Bulletins, Technical Data, and other specifications
- Assist with the development and understanding of all employees to any and all quality requirements and audits as needed
- Inspect to meet established inspection times without compromising quality
- Meet Quality Auditing goals and objectives and various requirements
- Responsible for the quality of Audits and schedule adherence as well as ensure quality fabricated parts, sub-assemblies and installations and/ or repairs to structure and avionics
- Ensure that appropriate levels of Quality and compliance are met for all assigned work in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Provide assistance in fabrication, technical and Quality support as required
- Perform manufacturing and maintenance Quality activities for the effective management of organizational goals and objectives, configuration and document controls, work package execution, standard metrics within the department, and product quality
- Verify that the specifications, manuals and other data used during inspection procedures are current and approved for use by Repair Station
- Maintain positive professional relationships with peers, licensors, customers, and regulatory authorities
- Direct qualified individuals to duties as assigned including leading teams as required
- Follow Environmental Health and Safety Policy
- Follow applicable Federal Regulations such as CFR 43, 65 & 145
- Verify the status of calibrated tools to ensure that tools that are out of calibration are not used
- Verify expiration dates on materials to ensure that materials that are expired are not used
- Review work packages in depth to ensure that all required documents are included in the work order package and the package is complete
Requirements
Required
- Excellent understanding to enforce the FAA & AS9100 Auditing, Repair Station Manual/ Quality Manual, and FAA Approved Training Manual
- 5 years minimum Quality Assurance in an Aviation/Aerospace environment
- Bachelors degree preferred but not required
- Advanced knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practi ces, tools, and procedures within the commercial/ military aviation field
- Exceptional attendance and attention to detail
- Ability to understand, read and write the English language
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 First Article Inspection and FAA repair station procedures
- Thoroughly familiar with all Auditing and inspection methods, techniques and equipment used in their area of responsibility to determine the quality of airworthiness on articles undergoing maintenance, preventative maintenance or alteration
- Proficiency in the use of the various types of inspection aids used for inspection in their area of responsibility
- Ability to understand and follow the Repair Station/ Quality Control Manual and FAA approved Training Manual
- Thoroughly familiar with all Auditing and inspection methods, techniques and equipment used in their area of responsibility to determine the quality of airworthiness on articles undergoing maintenance, preventative maintenance or alteration
- Expertise using various types of inspection aids used for inspection in their area of responsibility
- Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
- Have and maintain a valid US Passport
