Description:
Provide systems engineering expertise for assigned systems in the Short and Intermediate Effectors for Layered Defense Project Office (SHIELD) Program Office portfolio. Will serve as a subject matter expertise to the assigned SHIELD Product Manager, Deputy Product Managers, and Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Directorate leadership. The incumbent must understand the System Engineering process. The incumbent must be able to interface with technical experts and coordinate as required.
MAJOR DUTIES:
1. Serve as LPWS Lead Systems Engineer
2. Support and Lead a system engineering team with planning, directing, guiding, and coordinating the analytical, architecture, standards, and modernization efforts and executing its associated responsibilities in the assigned SHIELD as directed.
3. Support the integration of SHIELD products with designated sensor/command & control networks as directed.
4. Responsible for technical support for activities required for system development as well as sustainment to include obsolescence and material release.
5. System consultant to the assigned SHIELD Product Manager, Deputy Product Managers, and SHIELD SE&I Directorate leadership on systems engineering issues.
6. Provide technical expertise, advice, and guidance in the preparation of assigned SHIELD plans, designs, and specifications for air and missile defense programs and projects.
7. Performs critical analysis concerning system engineering and implementation of missile and launcher systems and subsystems.
8. Identify risks to assigned SHIELD program success. Analyze and prioritize risks. Implement and monitor risk mitigation plans.
