Position Overview
The Aircraft Logs and Records Technician provides critical aircraft recordkeeping and documentation support for the Navy Reserve C-130 and KC-130 fleet in support of Organizational (O-Level) and select Intermediate (I-Level) maintenance operations. This position ensures the accuracy, integrity, and availability of aircraft, engine, and support equipment logbooks and electronic records in accordance with applicable maintenance instructions, inspection work decks, and Program Work Statement (PWS) requirements.
Operating within the Reserve Aviation Maintenance Center of Excellence (RAMCE), the Logs and Records Technician supports scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events, including Isochronal (ISO) inspections, engine inspections, Technical Directives, and high-time component maintenance, while enabling single-aircraft flow and deployment readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain complete and accurate aircraft, engine, and support equipment logbooks and records in compliance with Navy maintenance policies and procedures.
Perform data entry, retrieval, verification, and correction within aircraft maintenance recordkeeping systems.
Analyze and resolve discrepancies caused by software, hardware, or data entry errors.
Transmit and receive maintenance and aircraft data via approved electronic methods in support of deployments and detachment operations.
Extract, compile, and interpret maintenance and management data to produce reports, archives, backups, and data saves.
Support Maintenance Control by ensuring documentation accurately reflects aircraft maintenance actions and status.
Prepare correspondence, reports, and administrative documentation related to aircraft maintenance activities.
Coordinate records management across maintenance shops and work centers to ensure continuity and compliance.
Support audits, inspections, and government reviews by providing timely and accurate documentation.
Adhere to configuration control requirements and ensure no unauthorized changes to baseline aircraft configurations.
Comply with all safety, security, and quality assurance requirements while working in a controlled aviation maintenance environment.
Required Qualifications
Active SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
Demonstrated experience maintaining aircraft and engine logbooks and maintenance records.
Proficiency with aviation maintenance recordkeeping systems, databases, and electronic data management tools.
Working knowledge of Organizational and Intermediate-Level aircraft maintenance documentation processes.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify, analyze, and correct record discrepancies.
Experience preparing reports, correspondence, and administrative documentation in a maintenance environment.
Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and alternate schedules, as directed by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with maintenance, logistics, and government personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting Navy or Marine Corps C-130 / KC-130 aircraft maintenance.
Familiarity with ISO inspections, Technical Directives, and high-time component tracking.
Experience supporting Fleet Readiness Centers or depot-level aviation maintenance activities.
Background in maintenance data analysis or systems/database support.
