Squadron: Reserve Aviation Maintenance Center of Excellence (RAMCE)

The Fabric Worker (23260) provides specialized fabrication, alteration, and repair services in direct support of Organizational (O) and select Intermediate (I) level maintenance for Navy C-130 and KC-130 aircraft inducted into the Reserve Aviation Maintenance Center of Excellence (RAMCE). This role supports the successful completion of Isochronal (ISO) inspections, engine inspections, technical directives, and high-time component maintenance by ensuring fabric-based aircraft and support items meet Navy standards for airworthiness, safety, and durability.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate, alter, and repair a wide range of fabric articles supporting C-130 aircraft maintenance and ground operations, including but not limited to covers, protective items, restraints, and interior fabric components
Measure, pattern, mark, cut, fit, and assemble fabric components using approved construction methods
Sew, cement, or bond materials using hand tools, power tools, and industrial sewing equipment
Work with a broad range of materials including wool, cotton, canvas, nylon, polyester, olefin, metallic fabrics, leatherette, velour, burlap, felt, vinyl, rubberized fabrics, and plastic filament materials
Perform upholstery work on cushions, seats, and related fabric assemblies as required
Ensure all fabric work complies with technical directives, safety standards, and quality requirements
Support single-aircraft flow operations and assist with secondary aircraft induction as workload demands
Maintain proper documentation and coordinate with maintenance and logistics personnel as needed
Follow all security, safety, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention procedures within the hangar and workspaces
Required Qualifications

Demonstrated experience as a Fabric Worker, Textile Worker, or Upholstery Specialist in a military or aviation maintenance environment
Proficiency in fabric measurement, pattern making, cutting, sewing, and material assembly
Working knowledge of fabric properties, construction techniques, and repair methods
Ability to safely operate industrial sewing machines, cutting tools, and associated hand and power equipment
Ability to read and follow technical instructions, work decks, and written procedures
Active Secret security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one
Ability to work in a controlled maintenance environment and meet physical demands associated with fabrication tasks
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting military aviation or depot-level maintenance activities
Familiarity with Navy or DoD maintenance standards and documentation practices
Experience working on aircraft support equipment, protective covers, or interior fabric components
