Software Engineer - Junior Level

Why This is an Exciting Role:

As a Software Engineer at Boeing Intelligence & Analytics (BI&A), this position will be supporting an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to assist with analyses, design, development and verification of a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions. Assists with analyses to evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Assists with various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture. Assists with analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
  • Debug existing software and correct defects
  • Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
  • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
  • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
  • Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories

Experience and Qualifications:

To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:

Required Education and Years of Experience:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically seven (7) years experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance
  • Experience with Java software development
  • Experience with generating & reviewing software/technical documentation
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment
  • Experience using with Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with the following software development skills:
    • React
    • Java
    • CGI
    • Visual Basic
    • HTML
    • XML

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience assisting with development & execution of test procedures for software components
  • Ensuring quality control of all developed and modified software
  • AWS Experience
  • Elasticsearch
  • Springboot
  • Kafka
  • Monolithic Springboot to Microservices
  • Hibernate/JPA


Telework/Remote Availability: Hybrid work authorized (minimum 2-3 days onsite)

Summary Pay Range:

Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

$90,000 - $110,000
