Duties / Responsibilities:
This position will be on-site at the FAA Headquarters building located at 800 Independence Ave. SW, Washington, DC 20004
• Serves as a Senior Correspondence Specialist within the Aviation Safety (AVS) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Integration Office, interacting with FAA employees, management, and external stakeholders to support mission-related programs.
• Performs diverse correspondence tasks with limited supervision, acting as both an individual contributor and team member, and may lead small projects or programs.
• Utilizes advanced knowledge of correspondence and administrative procedures to track and analyze data, guide less-experienced professionals, and propose solutions to complex problems.
• Evaluates incoming executive data requests, plans resource allocation, and reviews routine and non-routine correspondence for accuracy and adequacy, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
• Gathers, analyzes, and compiles data to support recommendations, prepares and edits a wide range of documents, and coordinates meetings, providing comprehensive administrative and operational support
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree + 8 years of relevant years
• Without a bachelor’s degree, a candidate must have 16 years of relevant experience
• Must have extensive experience in the aviation field preferably with the FAA
Preferred Experience:
• Prior FAA or aviation experience
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word), data management, data processing, and software management is essential.
• Soft Skills: Ability to communicate orally and in writing with various individuals, both internal and external to the organization, to share information, respond to inquiries, or address problems promptly.
