Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cable Mechanic Field Service Supervisor to lead and provide oversight to installation/repair teams completing US Navy Combat System ship alterations and repairs. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Full-Time Salary Range: $88189 - $149922
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cable Mechanic Field Service Supervisor to lead and provide oversight to installation/repair teams completing US Navy Combat System ship alterations and repairs. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and provide oversight to installation/repair teams completing US Navy Combat System ship alterations and repairs in accordance with NAVSEA standards
- Conduct ship checks to determine scope of work and potential conflicts between installation drawings and actual shipboard configuration
- Ensure installations are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with US Navy and NAVSEA standards
- Build material lists from official drawings and coordinate to ensure required materials are ordered and received in a timely manner
- Develop cost estimates and Statements of Work (SOWs) for proposed work
- Coordinate with various company and customer activities to ensure proper scheduling of services and resolve installation difficulties
- Conduct briefs and attend meetings
- Meet regularly with ship Port Engineers and Combat System Port Engineers to develop new work and identify opportunities for future projects
- Ensure the workforce operates in accordance with OSHA and company mandated safety policies
- Conduct incident investigations to determine root cause
- Ensure all company policies are clearly understood and adhered to by subordinates
- Ensure the workforce is properly trained and equipped to perform all assigned tasks
- Make recommendations to leadership for required training and needed equipment/tools
- Train junior mechanics in all types of cable and connector repair, including:
+ RF (Radio Frequency) cable installation and repair
+ CAT (Computer and Telecommunications) cable installation and repair
+ FIBER (Fiber Optic) cable installation and repair
+ MULTIPIN (Multi-pin connector) installation and repair
People Manager:
As a People Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Supervising and mentoring a team of cable mechanics
- Providing guidance and feedback to team members to improve performance and productivity
- Conducting performance evaluations and providing recommendations for training and development
- Ensuring that all team members are aware of and comply with company policies and procedures
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
- Experience working on US Navy Combat System ship alterations and repairs
- Strong technical knowledge of cable installation and repair
- Experience with:
+ Copper and Fiber Cable repair and installation
+ Multipin Connector repair and installation
+ CAT Repair and Installation - Familiarity with NAVSEA standards and regulations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in confined spaces
- Current OSHA certification or willingness to obtain
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- US Navy experience
- Experience with shipboard combat systems
- Knowledge of Navy shipboard electrical and electronics systems
- Experience with material management and procurement
- Experience with cost estimation and SOW development
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field
