About The Role
Peraton is seeking a mid-level Microsoft Windows Systems Administrator to join our team in Greenbelt, MD to support our Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract based out of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
As prime contractor on the SENSE contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment and systems engineering of NASA's worldwide satellite communication networks. You will work in a dynamic, team-based development environment for the NASA Near Space Network.

Details
Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

About The Role
Peraton is seeking a mid-level Microsoft Windows Systems Administrator to join our team in Greenbelt, MD to support our Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract based out of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
As prime contractor on the SENSE contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment and systems engineering of NASA's worldwide satellite communication networks. You will work in a dynamic, team-based development environment for the NASA Near Space Network.
This position will be responsible for:
- Install, integrate patch, and maintain various system servers and workstations such as, but not limited, Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2012 R2 and later.
- Provide systems engineering technical support across the SENSE organization, technical working groups, peer reviews, technical interchange meetings, and periodic status coordination meetings.
- Troubleshoot system anomalies and discrepancies that have been elevated for resolution.
- Capture system installations and modifications within change management documentation and/or ticketing system.
- Track, create and/or implement remediation solutions for vulnerability and compliance findings reported by the IT Security team.
- Perform system backup and recovery actions for assigned systems.
- Plan and develop system upgrade strategies for End of Life or End of Support systems.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Education/Experience - degree required in engineering, computer science, information technology or other related technical discipline and directly related experience Information Security and/or IT infrastructure as follows: BS/BA degree and 3 years' experience, or AS/AA and 6 years' experience; in lieu of degree, 8+ years of directly related experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of experience performing administration of Windows systems, or similar OS.
- Advance knowledge of Windows Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Experience with virtual machines and management of hypervisors: ESXi and/or Hyper-V
- 3+ years of experience performing administration of Microsoft Windows Systems.
- 3+ years of experience working with cyber (IT) security concepts.
- Ability to generate scripts or automation tool jobs for repetitive tasks.
- Experience implementing or maintaining local WSUS and/or Linux Repositories servers.
- Security clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance thereafter.
- Must be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
- Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
Desired Experience:
- Active SECRET security clearance.
- Prior NASA experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing smartcard login on Windows or Linux systems.
- Strong understanding of SSL/TLS certification management and implementation.
- Experience with automation tools such as Chef, Ansible, PDQ, or BigFix.
- Familiarity with Tenable Nessus tools.
