About The Role

Peraton is seeking an IT Asset Manager (ITAM) to oversee the financial, operational, and lifecycle management of IT assets across the CIO organization in support of the FAA BNATCS program. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate asset tracking, cost optimization, and governance throughout the entire asset lifecycle from request and procurement through deployment, refresh, retirement, and disposal. The IT Asset Manager maintains reliable asset records, enforces standard lifecycle processes, manages warranties and renewals, and partners with organizational leaders to improve asset utilization, reduce waste, enhance forecasting, and strengthen audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities may include:
  • Own the full IT asset lifecycle for hardware and selected software/license assets, including intake, purchasing coordination, receiving, tagging, deployment readiness, refresh planning, redeployments, and end-of-life disposal
  • Maintain accurate asset status, ownership, and location across all moves/adds/changes, ensuring alignment with onboarding, offboarding, and operational support processes
  • Establish, document, and enforce lifecycle standards and governance practices
  • Track total cost of ownership (TCO) and lifecycle spending for IT assets
Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities across inventory, licensing, and refresh cycles
  • Maintain system-of-record accuracy for asset inventory and/or the CMDB
  • Conduct regular physical and system-based audits/reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and updating records as needed
  • Manage warranties, maintenance renewals, and support contracts; track expirations and coordinate timely renewals
  • Coordinate vendor returns and RMA processes and ensure updates to asset records, financial systems, and lifecycle documentation
  • Support sourcing and procurement activities with asset utilization data, lifecycle insights, and forecasting
  • Ensure all lifecycle processes comply with governance requirements for traceability, approvals, chain-of-custody, and secure disposal evidence
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate reports, documentation, and processing evidence
  • Produce recurring reporting to CIO leadership on inventory health, refresh readiness, aging assets, utilization trends, warranty exposure, and cost insights
  • Drive continuous improvement of asset workflows to reduce manual effort, shorten cycle times, and improve accuracy and service outcomes

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing IT assets and lifecycle processes with strong attention to detail and ownership
  • Understanding of IT hardware categories and lifecycle realities
  • Proven ability to track asset financials: budgeting/forecasting support, invoice/PO reconciliation, lifecycle costing and reporting
  • Strong process orientation with ability to design, document, and enforce repeatable workflows across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with ITAM/CMDB or service management platforms (ServiceNow preferred, or equivalent) and able to maintain high-quality records
  • Strong Excel skills with ability to build clear asset reports and reconcile data across sources
  • Ability to communicate clearly and coordinate across IT, Finance, Procurement, and vendors
