Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
Required
- 10+ years of experience in software-intensive program leadership, with demonstrated ability to lead large, multi-discipline technical teams
- Proven track record of delivering complex software programs on schedule and to customer expectations
- Experience managing and developing senior technical staff and functional leads
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels - from engineers to senior government leadership
- Active TS/SCI clearance or eligibility to obtain one
- Ability to travel ~25%
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the single point of accountability for all technical execution across Development Security Operations, Systems Engineering, Agile Engineering, Systems Integration & Test, IT, User Experience, and Cybersecurity
- Maintain and evolve the multi-vendor system-of-systems program technical roadmap, setting development direction and ensuring alignment with customer priorities and contract requirements
- Drive architectural decisions and resolve complex cross-discipline technical challenges
- Ensure integration timelines are met and milestones are successful
People Leadership
- Serve as the Lead Engineer for the program while also coordinating 7 senior functional leads (Systems, Collaboration/Agile, DevSecOps, Integration & Test, Cybersecurity, User Experience, and Architect), with overall team responsibility for 40-50 personnel
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, adaptability, and continuous improvement across all functional areas
- Develop and mentor technical staff, identifying growth opportunities and building organizational capability
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, stakeholders, and end users - building deep relationships and maintaining a thorough understanding of operational needs
- Rapidly build rapport with customer team and consensus within a multi-contractor environment
- Organize and conduct integration events, technical briefings, and planning events for audiences ranging from end users to senior government leadership (General Officer / SES level)
- Translate diverse and evolving customer requests into actionable technical direction, consistently delivering more value than expected
- Actively support new business efforts by representing technical capabilities and identifying opportunities for program growth
Continuous Improvement
- Actively solicit and act on user feedback, driving prioritization of implementation and integration as needed
- Identify and implement process improvements across engineering, integration, and delivery workflows
What sets you apart:
- Experience in the military simulation/training domain, particularly within Constructive Training.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition and program execution processes
- Familiarity with Agile Software/System development lifecycles
- Familiarity with DevSecOps or DevOps concepts
- Familiarity with ATO processes and RMF compliance concepts
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment concepts
- Experience supporting or leading business development activities in a technical capacity
- Master's degree in a relevant technical or leadership field
- Creative thinker with demonstrated success leading the systems development life cycle
- Collaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and position others for success
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and influence management skills, with notable record of securing buy-in on concepts and ideas
