The Test Engineer is responsible for leading the test team's efforts for the C2PMod project. They will play a supporting role in achieving the organization's goals by interfacing with program leadership, reporting on test status, and leading the test planning working groups and test readiness reviews. This position will directly impact the success of our cloud and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) testing through meticulous planning, thorough reviewing, and critical analysis support.
CORE FUNCTIONS / JOB DUITES
An Intermediate Test Specialist/Engineer will have the ability to perform the following, Able to perform the following independently, under minimum supervision:
Leading testing teams / efforts in the cloud and lab space (CTB, PGC)
Drive the long term test schedule
Prioritize test execution and analysis
Interface with leadership to communicate test progress and status.
Participate in the development of test plans and procedures. Execute test cases, analyze results, and ensure thorough documentation of findings.
Set up, operate, and tear down test architectures for assigned systems and subsystems, ensuring readiness for test events.
Apply standard and intermediate troubleshooting techniques. Utilize common data analysis tools to validate results and assist in root-cause analysis of issues identified during testing.
Generate and maintain test scripts to support the execution of test procedures, with a focus on automation and efficiency.
Review the Identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of system issues (bugs/TRs), as needed.
Prepare and review test documentation, including Status Reports, Trouble Reports (TRs)/Test Observation Reports (TORs), and final test reports. Ensure compliance with required formats and accuracy of content.
Provide regular updates on test progress and issues to project leads and stakeholders. Escalate significant issues that may impact schedules or resources.
Break down test requirements from system and interface specifications to develop targeted test cases and ensure full coverage of system capabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support all phases of the test program. Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members as needed.
Identify and recommend improvements to testing processes, tools, and team efficiency based on experience and analysis of past activities.
Assist in coordinating lab asset requests and managing configuration changes to support test events.
A Mid-Level Test Specialist/Engineer will work independently to:
Leading testing teams / efforts in the cloud and lab space (CTB, PGC)
Drive the long-term test schedule
Prioritize test execution and analysis
Interface with leadership to communicate test progress and status.
Provide continuous training of the team to ensure that all members supporting test and analysis have the required skill set to perform any task, as required by the test program.
Ensure the day-to-day tasking and operation of personnel assigned to the test team is completed and supervise the requirements of the program are being met for that test area.
Provide periodic status and updates of the team and support test program to the internal and external stake holders and promptly reports any issues of either that can impact resources, schedule or tasking of the team and test program.
Attend assigned planning meetings and program specific working groups for program support and situational awareness, providing input and support in execution of all phases of a test program. This includes during the planning, development, execution and reporting of test effort.
Oversee the identification, troubleshooting, and resolution of system issues (bugs/TRs), as needed.
Implement the required format and review content of the various reports and test material (i.e., Status Report, Trouble Reports (TRs), Test Observation Report (TOR), Quicklook report, test report, final report) as required by the test program, as well as review team input, prior to submitting reports to customer.
Develop, configure, and troubleshoot networks, test architectures, and test cases used for test simulations and events to permit the accurate and detailed assessment of system, functional, and performance requirements, as needed. Utilize common data analysis tools to support the validation, root-cause and troubleshooting of complex issues observed or documented during testing.
Work together with internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of the Test Plan. This includes performing research, identifying test objectives, determining methods of evaluation, generating time lines and test schedules, determining level of test development and test cases, determining test approach, analysis methods and reporting, implementing complex system problem isolation/detection and resolution techniques, identifying defects and their sources, and documenting and analyzing results.
Continually evaluate historical data and current processes and applications that support the test program and identify impacts for test events or schedules, as well as areas that will improve the efficiency, technical capability, and the effectiveness of the team. Provides status updates, noting areas of concern and provide recommendations to improve and resolve issues.
Coordinate and generate the required lab asset request(s) to support the test event(s). This includes (when required) submitting Configuration Change Requests, requesting software/hardware, and deconflicting assets with other users, as needed.
Collect and record systems data, preliminary data analysis, data removal, data transfer, provide any data analysis information for TORs, and reach back support, as needed.
