Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Principal Systems Engineering & Integration Test (SEIT) / Senior Principal Systems Engineering & Integration Test (SEIT) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, Florida.

As the SEIT Engineer, you will lead a collaborative team of cross-disciplinary engineers and partners, reporting directly to the Tech Lead and Program Manager.

We seek innovative thinkers passionate about applying commercial technologies to operational military challenges. You will work with advanced communications, machine learning, and emerging wireless technologies to support next-generation battle management capabilities. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment, excels at multitasking and adapting priorities, and is comfortable contributing to whitepapers, proposals, and presentation content. A strong drive for self-learning and the ability to work independently with minimal direction are essential.

Note: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute program-level SEIT functions, including Safety, Human Factors, Cost Engineering, and Configuration & Data Management.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute capability verification at three levels of proof-of-concept feasibility tests and experiments: System Integration Laboratories (SIL), Major Range Test and Facility Base (MRTFB), and Military Exercise.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and brief SEIT status, risks, and opportunities to internal & external stakeholders.
  • Conduct technical assessments for incoming changes to evaluate SEIT impacts.
  • Execute trade studies with coordination across engineering disciplines.
  • Manage the SEIT team, including CAM responsibilities and day-to-day leadership.
  • Manage processes which ensure capability verification and completion of contractual requirements.
  • Serve as SEIT representative for cross-program coordination at strategic program meetings, including leadership scrum meetings.
  • Coordinate SEIT work with multiple suppliers, including SDRLs.


Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at a Principal Systems Engineering & Integration Test (SEIT) (Level 3) or Senior Principal Systems Engineering & Integration Test (SEIT) (Level 4) level based on the qualifications below.

Principal Systems Engineering & Integration Test (SEIT) (Level 3)
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 5 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 1 year of related professional/military experience.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company, to meet its business need
  • Must have experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody, CATIA, or similar)
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering practices.
  • Ability to travel within CONUS approximately 25% of the time.


Senior Principal Systems Engineering & Integration Test (SEIT) (Level 4)
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 6 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 4 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company, to meet its business need
  • Must have experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody, CATIA, or similar)
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering practices.
  • Ability to travel within CONUS approximately 25% of the time.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline
  • Experience modeling large experiments with multiple developers.
  • Previous Systems Engineering leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
  • Experience in training systems, training courseware, or training course development.
  • Experience performing key responsibilities on DoD contracts, to include experience organization and planning necessary for contractors to execute and participate in demonstration/experiments at DoD facilities and Ranges.


Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
