Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) has an immediate employment opportunity available for a Manager, Field Engineering Services 2 position supporting the Field Engineering organization. This is a dual role encompassing both people leadership and program performance. This position may be based in Annapolis, MD or Silverdale, WA.
This Manager, Field Engineering Services 2 position is responsible for leading and developing an adverse technical team of approximately 10-12 people. This position requires that the manager establish and maintain effective management oversight, functional management, and customer (internal/external) communication. Must have exceptional organizational, communication and collaborative skills while functioning with minimal direction. This position will also generate and evaluate personnel resource inputs to proposals and manage both cost and schedule performance. The new manager will demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. The Manager, Field Engineer 2, will have a proven ability to build a culture of inclusive innovative teams with high levels of engagement.

The Manager, Field Engineering Services 2, will work closely with various program managers. The ideal candidate will also be able to champion change within the organization, to achieve competitive advantage for the business. This position requires close collaboration with Northrop Grumman's Global Mobility Office in drafting International Assignment Agreements and other expatriate paperwork. The candidate should have familiarity with international work and visa and immigration procedures. Previous experience working with the U.S. military is desirable. In addition to general management, the position requires close coordination with Northrop Grumman Program Managers as well as being the U.S. advocate for employees with HR, computer resources, and international allowance payment issues. The position requires monitoring conditions and the health and safety of expatriate employees. Night and weekend work might be required in the case of overseas emergencies. Occasional international travel is required.

Primary Level Salary Range: $127,100.00 - $190,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Provide leadership and direction on activities in accordance with program and organization goals, facilitate team meetings, analyze problems, plan and direct tasks and provide solutions to ensure proper use of resources and assets.
- Direct workforce planning and talent development to support program delivery-forecasting workload and staffing needs; recruiting, onboarding, and managing performance of assigned staff and specialized contract labor; and fostering an inclusive, engaged culture through mentoring, career development, and targeted training to close skill gaps
- Plan and schedule assignments; ensuring employees are up to date on various training activities and qualifications; recommend, track and manage special tools and test equipment; standardize, develop and enhance support processes for system support; management of procurement and logistics personnel to ensure on-time deliveries of materials.
- Provide strategic coaching to elevate effectiveness and accelerate organizational capability.
- Operate in a team environment and collaborate across the sector business areas as required to accomplish the team goals.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science degree in STEM and 8years of related experience. An additional 4 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. (development, operations, maintenance and testing of complex electromechanical systems)
- 6 years experience leadership experience
- 6 years experience in managing programs/projects to cost and schedule
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
- U.S. citizen
- Must have a current/active TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance. Top Secret/SCI clearance is required to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior military experience culminating in a leadership position at least equivalent to a senior enlisted/non-commissioned officer (E-7 or above) or commissioned junior officer billet (O-3 or above)
- Strong leadership skills to achieve sustainable top performance.

- Effective communicator and problem solving skills
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
