As a Sr Principal Information System Project Manager, you will report functionally to the under the Technical Project Execution (TPE) Department, Software Engineering Directorate, SDS Engineering Homeroom. You will be expected to oversee large-scale, complex projects from inception to completion that span across functional organizations. You will implement strategic project management practices, engage with senior leadership, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet technical requirements. In addition to leading and directing project teams, you will prepare project execution plans and identify appropriate technical and business resources. Your extensive experience in enterprise-level project management, advanced knowledge of project lifecycles, and strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills will be vital. Staying current on advances in IT and software development, you will provide technical and analytical guidance to your team.
For your daily tasks and direction, you will be a member of the DevStar Team, Software and Systems Integration (SSI) Element, Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Segment, Sentinel Program and will seek guidance and direction from your Assignment Manager for daily tasks and activities. In your assignment, you will be expected to but are not limited to:
• Perform/support daily project management tasks and activities (i.e. cost/EV, schedule/IMS, performance/RIO, ...)
• Perform/support daily agile tasks and activities (i.e. Sprints, Stories, Story Points, Scrums, ...)
• Perform/support daily customer engagement tasks and activities (i.e. JPMRs, SW GPTs, customer network/site access, ...)
• Perform/support daily contractual tasks and activities (i.e. CDRL deliveries, EV deliveries, IMS deliveries, ...)
• Other activities/tasks assigned or required to meet contractual/program requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
Sr. Principal Information Systems Project Manager: 8 Years with Bachelor's in related field of study, 6 Years with Masters, 4 Years with PhD or 4 additional years in lieu of a degree.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
• Must have an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
• Must have knowledge/experience of Systems Engineering "V" Life Cycle, or Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
• Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, SharePoint).
• Must be knowledgeable in Atlassian Suite (i.e. Jira and Confluence).
• Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience as a Control Account Manager with Earned Value Management (EVMS) experience (labor, material, Subs, IWOs)
• Experience with risk, issues and opportunity management
• Experience with contract actions and vehicles (i.e. CDRLS)
• Experience in briefing executive leadership
• Professional Certification in: Project Management, Agile, or DAU
• Capable of working with minimal direction, independently determines and develops technical objectives of assignments, and presents work upon completion for high level review.
• Ability to provide and implement solutions to advanced problems which require ingenuity and innovation
Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
