Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer designs, develops, and optimizes manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost. This role leads process improvement initiatives and works cross-functionally with production, quality, design engineering, and supply chain teams. The position applies lean manufacturing principles to solve complex production challenges, supports new technology implementation, and mentors technicians and junior engineers.
-Key Responsibilities-
Evaluate and improve existing manufacturing processes across production and supply chain operations
Develop manufacturing processes based on product requirements and testing methods
Drive DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) to improve manufacturability, cost, and reliability
Analyze workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout to improve efficiency
Design and support assembly tooling, fixtures, jigs, and other production aids
Define testing methods, quality checks, and acceptance test procedures
Troubleshoot production and integration issues and drive root-cause corrective actions
Prepare production and process reports by analyzing operational data and trends
Coordinate equipment maintenance and support production readiness
Collaborate with supply chain on vendor readiness, material flow, and kitting
Train and support technicians during product development and production builds

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Project management experience preferred
Results-driven with a focus on operational improvement

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required
Master’s degree preferred

Defense or regulated manufacturing experience preferred
Experience with CAD or CAM tools preferred
