This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Handle lines and cables during docking and range operations; and handle lines and rigging during docking and undocking activities; 2) Assist barge transfers by providing visual guidance, tying off/mooring, etc; 3) Assist captains/coxswains with brow and berthing/support barge placement, to include operating a forklift, safety guiding, and communicating relays; 4) Communicate with the dockmaster via radio and other port operations personnel to support ship
events and requirements (i.e. fueling, booming, towing, painting, docking, etc; 5) Provide
markings for pier laydowns and coordinate, schedule and/or manually remove equipment to
support dockmaster with assigning required area.
This position requires a certified Forklift Operator. Incumbent(s) must have or obtain a Fork
Lift license or certification to operate a forklift with capacity of up to 15,000 lbs. within 90 days
after onboarding and maintain for duration of employment.
This position requires incumbent(s) to be a qualified Facility Response Team (FRT) member.
Incumbent(s) must complete the FRT Course within 90 days after onboarding.
This position requires the incumbent to be qualified as a 2nd class swimmer and complete
Shore Installation Management Basic Boat Coxswain Course within 90 days after onboarding.

This position requires rotating shift-work and call-back overtime to provide coverage on
evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.

- You will assist in the docking and undocking of waterborne crafts by calling distances and identifying hidden obstacles.
- You will guide and secure pier platforms, gangways, barges, fenders, and other berthing support that are in the water to piers, trailers, etc.
- You will use pike poles, winches and davits to remove floating debris and hazards from the water.
