Aircraft Mechanic (I / II / III) – F-35 Flight Line Maintenance
Location: Naval Air Station Lemoore – Lemoore, CA
Program: U.S. Navy CNAP Contractor Field Team (CFT) Program – VFA-125
Clearance: Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance
Citizenship: U.S. Citizen required
Position Overview
We are seeking Aircraft Mechanics (Levels I, II, and III) to support organizational-level (O-Level) flight line maintenance operations for F-35 aircraft at Naval Air Station Lemoore.
This position supports the Commander Naval Air Forces Pacific (CNAP) under the Contractor Field Team (CFT) Program, augmenting Navy maintenance personnel to ensure aircraft remain safe, mission-ready, and capable of meeting operational flight schedules.
Aircraft mechanics will perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of aircraft systems and structures, while ensuring maintenance actions are completed in accordance with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) procedures and technical publications.
Senior mechanics may also lead maintenance teams and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance
Conduct flight line operations and aircraft servicing
Troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems including:
Flight control systems
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Fuel systems
Engines and powerplant components
Structural and sheet metal components
Perform aircraft inspections (pre-flight, thru-flight, and post-flight)
Maintain aircraft logs, records, and maintenance documentation
Interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and maintenance publications
Perform aircraft structural repair and component replacement
Support aircraft movement and towing operations
Operate and inspect support equipment (SE)
Assist with Technical Directive compliance and aircraft modifications
Support corrosion control and preservation procedures
Ensure aircraft remain safe and mission capable to support daily flight schedules
Senior-level mechanics may also:
Lead maintenance teams during complex repair tasks
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics
Assist with maintenance engineering change recommendations
Coordinate with engineering and maintenance leadership regarding aircraft issues
Required Qualifications
Experience performing aircraft maintenance and repair
Working knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems
Experience troubleshooting aircraft systems and mechanical components
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and maintenance documentation
Experience using aircraft maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment
Ability to work in operational flight line environments
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting U.S. Navy aviation maintenance operations
Familiarity with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790 series (Naval Aviation Maintenance Program)
Experience supporting fighter aircraft platforms (F-35, F-18, etc.)
Prior military aviation maintenance experience
Experience leading maintenance teams or complex repair tasks
Work Environment
Work performed on active military flight lines
Exposure to loud aircraft noise and outdoor operational environments
Schedule may include shift work, weekends, or schedule adjustments based on flight operations
