Intern - Accounting \u0026 Finance

Koniag Government Services is looking for an Accounting & Finance Intern to support our Accounting team.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting & Finance Intern to support our finance team with daily accounting operations, financial analysis, and reporting tasks. This internship offers hands-on experience in real-world financial processes and is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a strong foundation in accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting activities such as data entry, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Help prepare financial reports
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Analyze financial data and help identify trends or discrepancies
• Support audits and compliance-related tasks as needed
• Perform ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks assigned by the team

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Jamis Prime accounting software is a plus
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Good communication and time-management skills

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with ERP or accounting systems
• Familiarity with GAAP or IFRS
• Previous internship or coursework in accounting or finance
