DESCRIPTION OF POSITION/DUTIES:
All Points is seeking a DevOps Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Chantilly, VA. This role supports IT networks, systems, and high-visibility mission applications across multiple security enclaves (Unclassified, Secret, Top Secret/SCI). Responsibilities include supporting information systems operations, modernization efforts, cybersecurity functions, and both new development and operations/maintenance activities across the FBI Cyber Division (CyD).
As a DevOps SME and Database Development expert within the Cyber Technical Analytics and Operations Section (CTAOS), you will provide deep technical leadership across database architecture, optimization, performance engineering, DevSecOps tooling, Kubernetes cluster architecture, automation, and cloud deployments. You will serve as a senior advisor across DevOps, application development, analytics, and operations teams, ensuring secure, stable, and scalable solutions across multi?enclave environments.
This position is 100% on-site due to mission sensitivity and operational requirements. This position requires an active, current, and fully adjudicated US Department of Defense Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility (TS/SCI).

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Provide strategic guidance and technical leadership for database architecture, design, optimization, and performance tuning
• Develop and maintain SQL and PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, triggers, functions, views, and complex queries
• Develop backend reports and data workflows to support analytics and operational insight
• Create scripts to automate database administration and system workflows
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database performance for multi?enclave environments
• Maintain and evolve database schemas while ensuring data integrity and alignment with application requirements
• Serve as a trusted advisor to developers, system engineers, and mission stakeholders
• Install, integrate, and maintain DevSecOps infrastructure tools across operating systems and enclaves
• Deploy and configure services using Infrastructure?as?a?Service models
• Configure and manage Linux?based servers supporting dynamic web environments
• Debug cluster?based computing architectures and distributed environments
• Implement and maintain open?source monitoring and log/observability tools
• Architect, build, and manage Kubernetes clusters (AWS EKS preferred)
• Support AWS cloud deployments and associated automation pipelines
• Integrate and support DevOps tools such as Git, GitLab CI/CD, Artifactory, and other build/deployment automation systems
• Run and maintain Terraform/Terragrunt, Ansible, and Python-based automation for deployments
• Participate in Program Increments (PIs) and Agile Release Train (ART) activities
• Provide SAFe 6.0 support for two Agile Release Trains focused on enterprise search, analytics, visualization, and operational data triage within Global Mission Analytics (GMA)
• Provide technical mentorship to other developers, engineers, and administrators
• Ensure compliance with security standards, regulatory requirements, and FBI mission directives

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of experience in data engineering, DevOps, database engineering, or related technical fields.

SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required Technical Skills (Expert Level)

• SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL) and advanced query optimization
• Stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and complex relational data modeling
• ETL development, backend reporting, and automation scripting
• Database performance engineering, troubleshooting, and monitoring
• Log analytics and observability tooling (Splunk, ELK, OpenSearch)
• Docker and Kubernetes (expert?level cluster architecture; AWS EKS preferred)
• AWS GovCloud, SC2S, C2S cloud platforms
• Linux and Windows operating systems
• DevSecOps tooling including Git, GitLab CI/CD, Artifactory
• Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, and Infrastructure?as?Code best practices
• Automation with Python for data processing, orchestration, and deployments
• Elasticsearch and Apache Solr (Lucene?based search platforms)
• Kafka and RabbitMQ (message brokers)
• GraphQL schema design and API integration
• .NET, C#, JavaScript, and Java development familiarity
• Spring Boot, NiFi, Cypress, XML processing
• AWS solution architecture and enterprise deployment patterns
• Shell scripting, Scala, and distributed data processing tools

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Agile environments and software release processes
• Ability to work after hours when mission needs require
• Experience communicating work using SMART documentation practices

SECURITY CLEARANCE:
US Citizenship required
Active, current, and fully adjudicated DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI)
May require CI Polygraph.
