DESCRIPTION OF POSITION/DUTIES:
All Points is seeking a Systems Engineer SME to support the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Chantilly, VA. This role provides senior-level engineering expertise to support IT networks, systems, cloud and on-premises infrastructure, and mission-critical applications across multiple secure enclaves (Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret/SCI). This position is 100% on-site due to mission sensitivity and operational requirements. This position requires an active, current, and fully adjudicated US Department of Defense Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility (TS/SCI).

You will help engineer, deploy, integrate, and sustain the infrastructure supporting the FBI's forensic and investigative ecosystem. Work includes planning and designing new infrastructure, improving existing environments, supporting DevSecOps toolchains, advancing multi-enclave systems, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of critical mission systems.

This role requires deep Linux expertise, strong cloud and virtualization experience, and advanced knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code, Kubernetes/Docker containerization, and secure systems engineering. You will provide expert technical oversight across network, server, virtualization, and automation technologies while supporting the FBI's operational mission needs.

This position is 100% on-site due to mission sensitivity and operational requirements. This position requires an active, current, and fully adjudicated US Department of Defense Top Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility (TS/SCI).

Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Design, develop, implement, and support additions and changes to network hardware, server environments, and operating systems
• Provide direct support for day-to-day operations of network and operating system environments
• Troubleshoot at both physical and logical network levels
• Participate in architectural planning, design reviews, and infrastructure implementation
• Perform systems management and integration functions across multi?enclave environments
• Maintain network and system standards, including secure communication protocols (TCP/IP)
• Diagnose and resolve complex communication and infrastructure issues
• Ensure systems remain current with approved patches; assist with certification and accreditation tasks
• Develop strategies for client/server environments and infrastructure growth
• Advise on technology selection for processing, storage, data access, and application development
• Support DevSecOps practices and tools, including infrastructure automation
• Support Kubernetes/Docker deployments and containerized environments
• Engineer and maintain cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments
• Participate in Program Increments (PIs) and Agile Release Train (ART) activities
• Provide SAFe 6.0 support across two Agile Release Trains focused on enterprise search, analytics, data visualization, enrichment, and operational triage within Global Mission Analytics (GMA)

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
8-12 years of experience at the SME level supporting complex infrastructure and secure systems.

SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Python and C# for automation and scripting
• SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL
• LDAP/OpenLDAP, ADFS, Keycloak
• Tunneling protocols (GRE, IPSec, SSH, SSL)
• Experience designing secure systems for government environments
• Understanding of forensic and investigative system requirements

Preferred Skills:

• Experience as a Scrum participant and with software release processes
• Ability to work after hours when mission requires
• Experience communicating work using SMART documentation practices
• Security monitoring and incident response
• Strong understanding of advanced cyber threats and mitigation strategies
• Demonstrated experience leading security incident investigations
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISSP, GIAC, or equivalent
