TQI Solutions is currently seeking a Network Administrator - Journeyman to support our customer. This position provides advanced, hands-on field support across multiple sites, ensuring reliable network performance, efficient troubleshooting, and the maintenance of critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Perform network administration and troubleshooting across multiple locations, ensuring stable and secure connectivity for end users and mission systems.
• Conduct IOS upgrades and configuration changes for routers, switches, and ASAs; lead or assist with failure diagnosis and repair.
• Install, configure, optimize, patch, and secure network infrastructure device operating systems; maintain detailed drawings, diagrams, and configuration documentation.
• Maintain accurate, auditable records of system changes, updates, and device configurations.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports documenting network activity, issues, repairs, and completed actions.
• Apply Security+ and CCNA-level knowledge to support network operations, and enforce site-specific processes and security requirements.
• Document troubleshooting steps, actions, and resolutions using Excel, Word, and other required applications.
• Note: This role requires approximately 90% field work and frequent customer interaction in shipyard and shop environments.
• Provide after-hours and weekend support as required for outages or maintenance windows; weekday schedule may be adjusted to accommodate off-hours response needs.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network administration, troubleshooting, and field support.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure fundamentals, including routing, switching, IOS upgrades, and basic firewall concepts.
• Ability to document systems, changes, and troubleshooting actions clearly and thoroughly using standard office tools.
• Ability to work effectively in field environments, including travel to shops and shipyard drydock areas.• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• US Government Security Clearance
Certifications:
• Security+ Certification required.
• CCNA Certification desired.
This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Candidates must be eligible for a background investigation.
