Peraton is looking for a Senior Field Service Technician to support a contract onsite in Charlottsville, Virginia. This role is responsible for Tier I and Tier II voice, video, and network support. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with a variety of IT systems, network devices, and end-user equipment.
Peraton has served as the prime contractor for this program since its inception in the 1980's. We provide high-level government leaders with reliable secure voice, video, and fax communications anytime, anywhere, in any environment in support of day-to-day operations. We support a secure, worldwide, high-performance communications network comprised of real-time interactive applications allowing complex national and worldwide communications. Peraton provides the O&M of the network infrastructure and its components. We provide integration for development of hardware and software solutions, and engineering support for the delivery of system, network, software, and security solutions.

Target Salary Range: $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

The Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for but not limited to:
- Lead a team responsible for Tier I and II phone support of reported customer incidents supporting network connections, conference room video systems, VoIP phones, and fax printer systems.
- Guide other Field Engineers in providing end-user support, including in-room and eternal network support with graphical interface access and operability; troubleshooting, scheduling, and administering video teleconferences.
- Provide maintenance, to include powering on devices, inspecting/connecting cabling, confirming system status, and checking security parameters.
- Conduct integration and configuration of existing VTC hardware, including application of security controls; operations and management support to the network infrastructure that underlies the VTC platform.
- Patch and firmware upgrades, break/fix support, and daily operations and management support, including onsite assistance for special events.
- Remote and on-site support of preventative maintenance checks and services that may require overnight travel.
- Act as an incident manager in coordination of all issues with the network operations center, providing updates to ongoing issues, and reporting the closure of key events in the ticketing system.
- Generate plans, processes, and procedures to document and report maintenance activities.
- Develop and provide training to end users on the various systems in use when not supporting meetings.
- Coordinate and advise teams to respond to maintenance outages, authorized service interruptions, and life cycle replacements and/or upgrades.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- An active/current TS/SCI Security Clearance is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or similar technical field) and five (5) years relevant experience; or a Master's degree and three (3) years of relevant experience; or a High School Diploma/GED and nine (9) years of relevant experience in the above-cited duties may be substituted in lieu of a completed higher education degree.
- 2+ years of experience in IT services, with troubleshooting and equipment repair of VTC equipment (voice, video, and conference room control equipment).
- Strong organizational and communications skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Cisco CCNA certification.
- Direct experience with COMSEC material and devices.
- Technical certifications such as Crestron DMC-E.
- Experience with AMX software.
- Experience installing, terminating, labeling, and testing structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools (Solarwinds) and ticketing systems (Jira).
