Responsibilities

As a DevOps Engineer SME, you will provide expert-level leadership in the design, deployment, testing, certification, operations, and maintenance of DevSecOps infrastructure tools with special emphasis on Top Secret classification enclaves. You will contribute to the team that creates, maintains and supports the infrastructure applications in the cloud. Your expertise will ensure the reliability, security, and robustness of the underlying infrastructure that supports sophisticated forensic and investigative ecosystem within highly sensitive environments.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Architect, design, deploy, test, certify, and operate complex DevSecOps infrastructure tools within Top Secret enclaves.
  • Manage infrastructure assets for classified environments.
  • Address advanced interoperability issues for operating systems, support libraries, components, and application dependencies in multi-classification environments.
  • Deploy and configure services using infrastructure as a service provider with focus on security controls for classified data.
  • Design and implement specialized configurations for Linux-based and Windows servers within Top Secret environments.
  • Architect and debug sophisticated cluster-based computing architectures including Nutanix, VMWare, VXRail.
  • Implement and maintain enterprise-grade open-source monitoring and observability tools across classified domains.
  • Lead collaboration with development and security teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines integrate with DevSecOps best practices while meeting Top Secret security requirements.
  • Develop advanced automation scripts and programs (Bash, Python, etc.) to improve system reliability within secure environments.
  • Develop DevSecOps pipelines using gitlab-ci.yaml and DevSecOps best practices.
  • Develop container builds within docker and Kubernetes in support of the DevSecOps.
  • Provide knowledge and troubleshooting support to the infrastructure including developers within and outside of our organization.
  • Support and optimize multi-enclave environments with special focus on Top Secret infrastructure.
  • Lead incident response for critical issues within designated resolution timelines in classified environments.
  • Develop and implement security controls specific to Top Secret classification requirements.


May require flexible scheduling to support critical operations in Top Secret environments

Must be able to respond to critical incidents within designated resolution timelines (Critical: 8 hours, High: 24 hours, Medium: 48 hours, Low: 72 hours)

Required Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and ability to obtain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor's degree OR Master's degree with 10 years of experience OR Associate degree with 13 years of experience OR High School/Diploma with 16 years of experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in DevOps or related field with at least 4 years working in Top Secret environments.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience cloud-based infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience with SAFe Agile framework in classified environments.
  • Strong understanding of forensic and investigative system requirements within the intelligence community.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing DevSecOps practices in Top Secret government environments.
  • Security certifications (CISSP, Security+) preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing DevSecOps practices in secure government environments.
  • Proficiency with:
    • Data processing, automation and ETL workflow orchestration within classified environments
    • CI/CD pipeline implementation and optimization with security controls for classified code
    • Deployments with helm, terraform and/or terragrunt
    • Image builds via Docker and Dockerfile configurations
    • GitLab or similar version control systems configured for Top Secret environments including tagging and branching strategies
    • Network architecture and advanced security in Top Secret/SCI classified environments
    • Cross-domain solutions for secure data transfer between classification levels
    • Hybrid cloud and on-premises integration with focus on security boundaries
    • SAFe Agile methodologies in classified development environments
    • Security accreditation processes for TS/SCI systems (RMF, NIST 800-53)
    • Implementing defensive cybersecurity measures within classified networks

Desired Qualifications

  • Active TS/SC with CI Polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Knowledge of specialized security controls for Top Secret classification level.
  • Background in security accreditation for hyperconverged infrastructure Experience with cross-domain solutions in Top Secret environments.
  • Prior work with specialized compute and storage requirements for classified analytics.
  • Hashicorp Vault experience.
  • JFrog Artifactory experience as a repository for rpm packages, docker images, libraries such as pipy, R, or other supported library languages.
  • Experience using docker with remote repositories and local repositories.
  • Knowledge and experience developing AWS IAM policies and roles.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.
