Position Summary
Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer providing support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/HBD), Theater Battle Control Division.
The Theater Battle Control Division manages efforts focused on developing, acquiring, fielding and sustaining programs that support worldwide communications, Battle Management, Command & Control, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C2ISR), Tactical Air Control, Air/Ground Surveillance, Time Critical Targeting, Combat Identification, Radar Imagery, Integrated Air/Missile Defense, and Mobile/Fixed C2ISR Performance, Exploitation & Dissemination Facilities.
This is a full-time position located at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts

Responsibilities
Duties includ e, but not limited to:
- Conduct program portfolio reviews to evaluate and recommend alternative plans, improve systems engineering processes, manage the program technical baseline, and design/perform system-level tests to ensure subsystem and system performance meets approved specifications.
- Perform program and design reviews to assess proposed plans, systems engineering activities, and test results. Prepare technical documentation defining system and subsystem characteristics, management reports, and technical presentations to support planning, implementation, and corrective actions using engineering economy principles.
- Validate systems by developing evaluation criteria and procedures and analyzing results of major engineering systems. Provide systems and program engineering support, technical assistance, and training across acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, deployment, installation, and operational oversight.
- Provide engineering inputs for program and project risk management in compliance with AF SEAM processes. Conduct formal trade studies evaluating engineering performance, effectiveness, cost performance, life-cycle cost, productivity, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule.
- Provide technical recommendations through reviews, studies, audits, analyses, and engineering IPT support. Perform proposal analyses comparing systems, components, and approaches for feasibility, compatibility, and cost effectiveness.
- Support concepts and requirements analysis including review and evaluation of key documentation such as Initial Capabilities Documents (ICD), Capability Development Documents (CDD), Capability Production Documents (CPD), Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Military Utility Assessments, Concepts of Operation (CONOP), Technology Development Strategies, FCAs/PCAs, and Technology Standards Profiles. Analyze approved system concepts and user requirements within functional, allocated, and product baselines.
- Assist with material solution analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, production, deployment, operations, and sustainment activities.
- Support engineering technical and management processes including requirements definition and analysis, architecture design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, transition, decision analysis, technical planning, and technical assessment. Manage requirements, risk, configuration, technical data, and interface management processes.
- Assist in planning and executing technical reviews and assessments (e.g., System Requirements Review, Technology Readiness Assessment) and develop supporting documentation such as Systems Engineering Plans and Risk Management Plans. Develop systems engineering documentation supporting system-of-systems interactions, configuration management, technical data packages, and acquisition and sustainment processes.
- Provide engineering support for system and component design, operation, and sustainment across the full acquisition life cycle from requirements analysis through system disposal. Conduct engineering activities during material solution analysis, technology development, engineering and manufacturing development, production, deployment, and operations phases.
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation such as AoA and Systems Engineering Plans, perform system analyses, prepare reports and briefings, and support technical reviews and assessments including Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Manufacturing Readiness Assessments (MRA), and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM).
- Conduct system architecture analyses including design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessments. Develop architectures, document existing and planned systems, identify deficiencies, develop alternatives, and recommend solutions using traditional architecture methods or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Ensure system architecture and interoperability requirements are maintained within the approved baseline. Define operational requirements and functional interactions within and across systems, considering life-cycle cost, logistics supportability, and human factors. Translate DoD user requirements into system requirements for design, development, testing, and evaluation using approved DoD and USAF acquisition methodologies.
- Provide engineering analysis of training systems, training equipment, and simulator requirements, including documentation and design evaluation.
- Apply DoD acquisition and sustainment systems engineering processes to address life-cycle requirements for supported products. Prepare and review program specifications for items, materials, and processes.
- Use analytical methods, simulation, MBSE, and digital engineering techniques to optimize system performance and effectiveness, define system parameters, evaluate hardware, and validate flight test results.
- Develop and integrate milestone review documentation, periodic reports, and certifications in accordance with DoD and Air Force acquisition policies. Review and evaluate contractor drawings and technical data packages to ensure accuracy, compliance with requirements, and adherence to ASME technical data package standards.
- Support requirements definition, architecture design, integration, verification and validation, transition, decision analysis, risk management, interface management, and configuration management processes.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and best practices across customers and contractors within proprietary constraints. Conduct market research and trade studies to evaluate current and future systems and assess mission suitability, cost, schedule, and technical performance.
- Perform engineering trade-off analyses addressing performance, cost effectiveness, life-cycle cost, producibility, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule. Participate in integrated logistics support activities including provisioning, source coding, maintenance data collection, technical order management, configuration management, quality deficiency report evaluation, and identification of alternate sources for diminishing manufacturing or material supply.

- Experienced in requirements development, production and deployment, and operation and support, architectures development & implementation, modeling & simulation including but not limited to Model Based Systems Engineering principles, verification & validation, technical data package development and sustainment, and principles of configuration management
- Experience with network architectures, embedded systems and application deployment across a variety of systems and hardware, to include cloud deployment and virtualization
- Familiarity with DoD Acquisition processes including Technology Maturation, Risk Reduction, Engineering Manufacturing and Development, Production and Deployment activities
- Familiarity with Electronic Warfare and/or Air Combat operations including live aircrew training/development of tactics, techniques, and procedures and Range Infrastructure architectures and systems are desired
