We are seeking a Journeyman to Senior level C# Software Developer to support the development, enhancement, and sustainment of software for a government program. This role involves designing and implementing Windows based applications that support mission critical operations. The position is hybrid, with regular on site work at the customer facility in Lakehurst, NJ.
Responsibilities
• Analyze user needs and translate operational requirements into software solutions
• Design, develop, integrate, and test C# applications targeting Windows environments
• Collaborate with systems engineers, testers, and government stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure software correctness
• Participate in configuration management, version control, and release processes
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design artifacts, flowcharts, and user guides
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing software to improve performance and reliability
• Support on site integration, testing, and customer demonstrations at Lakehurst
• Implement software quality assurance practices and adhere to established development standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development workflows, tools, and processes
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Engineering/Science, or a related technical discipline
• Minimum of 3 years of experience developing complex, software intensive systems
• Experience across the software lifecycle, including:
o Design
o Development
o Integration
o Test
o Implementation
o Configuration management
o Quality assurance
o Infrastructure support
• Proficiency in C#, .NET Framework/.NET Core, and Windows application development
• Experience with object oriented design, software patterns, and structured development practices
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle)
• Ability to work with COTS tools, Windows OS environments, and standard development toolchains
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi disciplinary team
• U.S. Citizenship
• Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one
Desired Qualifications
• Knowledge of real time systems, control systems, or embedded interfaces
• Experience with:
o WPF, WinForms, or other Windows UI frameworks
o Microservices, containers, or distributed architectures
o Modeling and simulation, data visualization, or system monitoring tools
• Familiarity with AI/ML techniques, automated planning, or data analytics
• Experience supporting on site customer activities or fielded system environments
• CompTIA Security+ certification (or ability to obtain)
