POSITION OVERVIEW
The Strategic Planning & Transformation Consultant will serve as a high-level trusted advisor. This role is responsible for defining organizational direction, setting strategic priorities, and creating actionable plans that ensure long-term mission success.
The ideal candidate acts as the bridge between technical engineering teams and executive leadership, translating complex operational data into clear, strategic roadmaps. You will apply industry-leading frameworks (ITIL, CMMI, PMI, Six Sigma) to assess program maturity, identify gaps, and lead the organization through large-scale transformation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strategic Vision & Execution
• Lead the development of enterprise-level strategic plans aligned with the mission.
• Facilitate high-stakes strategic planning workshops with executive leadership and senior stakeholders.
• Develop multi-year roadmaps and define program milestones and success criteria.
• Data-Driven Assessment
• Conduct deep-dive maturity assessments using CMMI, ITIL, or PMI governance models.
• Analyze operational and technical data to identify organizational gaps and performance opportunities.
• Translate "go-fast" technical inputs into enterprise-level strategies.
• Executive Advisory
• Serve as a primary advisor to senior program managers and executive leaders.
• Author executive-level briefings, white papers, and decision-support materials.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration between leadership and technical engineering staff.
• Process Improvement
• Design and implement process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma or similar frameworks.
• Establish performance metrics and continuous improvement cycles to enhance service delivery.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
• Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE
• Tenure: 8–12 years of professional experience in Management Consulting, Strategic Planning, or Organizational Transformation.
• Stakeholder Management: Proven track record of supporting executive-level decision-makers.
• Bridge-Building: Experience working directly with technical engineers and operations teams to develop strategic recommendations.
FRAMEWORK MASTERY (Must have experience in one or more):
• ITIL (Service Management Framework)
• CMMI (Maturity Models)
• PMI (Project/Program Management Methodologies)
• Lean Six Sigma (Process Improvement)
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• ITIL Foundation or Managing Professional
• Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
• Certified Management Consultant (CMC)
• Agile or SAFe Certification
