Northrop Grumman's Space Sector in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a talented and experienced Staff Inventory Planning and Control professional to lead warehouse operations and drive process improvement initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring seamless material management, MMAS compliance, and effective collaboration across program and regional projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in inventory control, warehouse optimization, and regulatory compliance, and will be able to support operational excellence and organizational goals. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations at Space Sector Huntsville warehouse facilities, including shipping and receiving, inventory control, storage, and overall material and warehouse management.
  • Ensure warehouse processes adhere to Material Management and Accounting System (MMAS) compliance standards.
  • Support program and regional initiatives by contributing to project planning, material readiness, and process standardization.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for warehouse operations, collaborating with stakeholders across programs and regional initiatives to address material needs, resolve issues, and contribute to organizational goals.
  • Manage and reconcile material transfers, ensuring compliance with regulatory and procedural standards while integrating materials into established workflows.
  • Lead efforts to optimize warehouse space utilization, including redesigning layouts to improve operational efficiency and accommodate organizational needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement of warehouse workflows, enhancing efficiency and regulatory compliance through process updates and adoption of best practices.
  • Prepare for and support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate records and ensuring alignment with MMAS, DoD, and quality standards.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of professional experience with a bachelor's degree; or 10+ years of professional experience with a master's degree; or 16+ years in lieu of a degree
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar platforms) to manage and maintain inventory accuracy and warehouse operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders across programs or regional initiatives to meet material and operational objectives.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands effectively.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a related field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Engineering).
  • Experience improving or implementing warehouse processes to enhance efficiency and ensure compliance with MMAS requirements and other regulatory frameworks (e.g., DoD standards).
  • Familiarity with audit preparation, material reconciliation, or regulatory compliance in the context of manufacturing or distribution environments.
  • Proven ability to optimize warehouse layouts or workflows to achieve efficient space utilization and improved material flow.


Primary Level Salary Range: $127,000.00 - $190,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
