Position Assignment: PTC Simulator Technician Manager at Luke Air Force Base, AZ.
The PTC Simulator Technician Manager provides leadership for Pilot Simulator Technicians and the Facility Maintenance Technician while also serving as a fully qualified Simulation Technician and the Simulator Technician Lead, overseeing up to 48 training-device technicians.
This role demands occasional weekend on-site coverage to handle maintenance and operational tasks that cannot be performed during normal work hours because of training requirements. The manager is responsible for two-shift operations that support twelve Pilot Training Devices, delivering 14 hours of daily device operation plus an additional 4 hours of preventative maintenance each day.
Travel to CONUS and OCONUS enterprise training sites is required to meet contracted training obligations, typically representing less than 25 % of the workload, and a flexible schedule is essential to align with customer operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Direct supervision of Pilot Simulator Technicians and the Facility Maintenance Technician.
• Oversight of two shift operations for 32 pilot training devices (14 hrs ops + 4 hrs preventative maintenance per day).
• Provide direct support for Modification Kit installations and Joint Program Office/Service Simulator Evaluation events.
• Manage logistical functions for the Luke AFB Full Mission Simulators, including shipping, receiving, and handling of FMS spare parts material.
• Conduct, coordinate, and support government required maintenance on facility systems and respond promptly to PTC trouble calls.
• Travel to enterprise training sites (CONUS/OCONUS) as needed to fulfill contract requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
• Possess a current Final Secret security clearance with a re-investigation within the last 6 years.
• Possess a current Security + certification or capable of acquiring within 3 months from hire date as a condition of employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a F-35 Program Special Access.
• 4 year degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience / combined education.
• 8 years electronic / avionics related field.
• 8 years professional experience in management of Operations and Maintenance of training/simulation devices or related field.
• Extensive expertise in maintaining and upgrading F-35 pilot training devices.
• Excellent leadership abilities guiding and managing subordinate employees.
• Strategic thinker and planner.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, team-building skills, strong work ethic and self-motivation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage statistical data for presentations and reports.
• Candidate must have the ability to interact effectively and build effective relationships with customers.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with F-35 aviation simulator training operations.
• Experience with military training operations.
• Experience working in a classified/access-controlled facility.
• Familiar with network security processes and certifications.
• Network troubleshooting and maintenance experience including switches, DHCP, VLAN, VHD and associated maintenance.
• Familiarity with F35 Training System architecture, implementation, and operations. Experience as a technical manager.
• Demonstrated familiarity and hands-on experience with the 56th Fighter Wing (56 FW) is strongly desired.
