Key Responsibilities
Design & Modeling: Lead the mechanical design of UAV airframes and internal subsystems using SolidWorks, ensuring optimized weight-to-strength ratios.
Advanced Manufacturing: Oversee the integration of composite materials and 3D-printed (Additive Manufacturing) components into flight hardware.
Component Selection: Identify and spec critical hardware, including propulsion systems, actuators, sensors, and specialized fasteners.
Analysis & Simulation: Conduct structural and aerodynamic assessments; familiarity with Ansys for FEA/CFD is essential to validate designs before production.
Prototyping: Transition designs from the screen to the workbench, engaging in hands-on assembly, fit-checks, and physical testing.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Aerospace Engineering.
Experience: Extensive professional experience in the aerospace industry, specifically within UAV/UAS or Defense sectors is preferred.
Software Proficiency: Power user in SolidWorks; familiarity with Ansys preferred.
Materials Expertise: Deep understanding of composite layup processes and high-performance 3D printing applications.
