Overview
i3 is looking for a Software & Systems MBSE Engineer to join our team. The candidate will provide Software and System MBSE modeling guidance and support to a US Army government project office (PO), ensuring adherence to MBSE modelling of tactical software and standards to support fielding to US Army locations.
Responsibilities
The candidate will provide software and system expertise to analyze software architectural design and requirements as well as perform independent analyses, studies, and design evaluations of software systems, subsystems, and equipment. The candidate will evaluate contractor's engineering program plans to ensure goals and objectives are achieved. Candidate will make updates the MBSE Prime Item Development (PIDS) System Model, and the Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI) Model based on their analysis performed. Candidate will use JIRA and Confluence to collaborate and track all ticket(s) information. Candidate will also utilize MagicDraw to update the PIDS/CSIC Models based on their analysis.

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree (or Master's) in an Engineering oriented discipline and 4+ years of relevant experience is required. Additional years of experience may be substituted for degree.
- Candidates must have expert knowledge of software and system principles, regulations, and practices including experience carrying out risk analysis on weapons systems.
- Demonstrated experience applying DoD/Army policies and regulations is required.
- Experience with air and missile defense systems is a plus.
- Experience with using agile software development and/or Model Based System Engineering is a plus.
- Candidate should excel in communications techniques to effectively lead their MBSE efforts.
- Candidate should possess experience demonstrating timely identification of hazards and initiation of actions necessary to eliminate or reduce the risk level.
- Candidate should have experience developing, assessing, or managing software systems for DoD weapon systems hardware or software.
- Candidate must be experienced with Microsoft Office products.
- Candidate must be able to think independently and be self-motivated, with proven organizational skills, ability to multi-task and support varied assignments.
- Candidate must be a US citizen, and must be a resident near Huntsville, AL, or be willing to relocate.
- While primary responsibilities are at Redstone Arsenal, candidates will be required to travel as needed to test sites and equipment locations (up to 25%).
