Duties

  • You will develop course material that meets Navy and Marine Corps standards; manage a continuous cycle of training, advise and assist with development of Navy and Marine Corps formal course/program of instruction.
  • You will review and evaluate media of substantial scope, that are often in untried form, and assess the adequacy of the product, need for revision and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • You will plan and design new curriculum to support dissemination of evolving doctrine, policies and procedures related to complex operational employment of military forces.
  • You will plan and conduct validity and reliability studies to analyze test items prepared by instructors and develop recommendations for revising test items to improve clarity, adequacy and increase reliability.
  • You will advise and/or conduct training requirement analysis as required.
  • You will supervise and support development of training task analysis and development of learning objectives, curriculum outlines, instructor and student/trainee guides, program instructions and relevancy of subject content.
  • You will analyze all end of course critiques for course improvement opportunities.
  • You will participate in Academic Review Boards to ensure course material and instruction consistency.
  • You will plan and organize analyses of accumulated data and information, and considerable coordination and integration of work with other functional areas.
  • You will coordinate course implementation and perform duties as an instructor for all assigned courses.
  • You will demonstrate proper classroom management and facilitation skills
  • You will maintain instructor evaluations per local training and education standard operating procedures and service direction.
  • You will report any defects, deficiencies, or issues with facilities or support equipment during course execution.
  • You will evaluate instructional techniques and develop improvement plans as required. Evaluate.
  • You will identify and advise on curriculum changes as required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience assessing workforce and Fleet training needs, skill gaps, and competency gaps in force development, amphibious warfare, expeditionary operations planning, maritime engagement and crisis response, ship to shore operations, and maritime prepositioning to design, develop, and implement effective learning and development programs.

Experience Interpreting multi-faceted data on current course offerings and training and education needs and shortfalls.

Experience planning and implementing full curriculum development lifecycle from learning analysis to program/course of instruction submission applying joint and naval doctrine to amphibious and expeditionary warfare curriculum development and life cycle maintenance.

Experience applying student and instructor centric teaching techniques in the classroom and curriculum development forums.

Experience in formal school experience in a formal learning center is required. Must possess intermediate knowledge of Navy and Marine Corps curriculum publications, processes, and systems processes and how they are applied in a formal schools setting.

Experience and knowledge of Navy and Marine Corps curriculum management systems/software and curriculum development processes and application of the concepts and systems.

Experience effectively communicating both orally and in writing with large groups, including senior civilian and military personnel.
