We are seeking a strong Mid level Systems Engineering Specialist to support the (U.S. Space Force Customer) for ( Ground Management and Integration Project). This is an exciting new initiative where the (U.S. Space Force Customer) is mirroring Silicon Valley processes and capabilities to quickly deploy new capabilities. Candidates must be passionate, energized, and excited to work on modern architectures and solve challenging problems for our clients.
Ground Management and Integration (GMI) is a U.S. Space Force program supporting the Resilient MEO Missile Warning and Tracking (RMMWT) mission by providing the ground system architecture, integration, and management capabilities necessary to operate a distributed, resilient space sensing enterprise. The program focuses on the development and sustainment of software-intensive ground capabilities, platform integration, and cross-domain interoperability to enable command, control, mission management, and data integration across current and future space assets. GMI emphasizes modular, scalable, and platform-aligned solutions to support incremental capability delivery and long-term mission resilience.

Position Description (what you will do):
- Model and Manage Software Architecture, Interfaces, and Cross-Domain Integration. Capture/maintain software components/behaviors; Software technical data in the SAM:
- Develop, deliver, and maintain the SRS, SAD, and SDD as SAM-hosted specifications
- Align SW↔HW integration; validate diagrams/ICDs; defect resolution.
- Control model changes; support integration & verification linkages (VCRM).
- Continuous maintenance; regression updates; review readiness.
- Platform alignment: Keep SAM content synchronized with the GMI Platform architecture and
- design, incorporating FORGE release plans, technology roadmap elements, and program
- intentions for platform utilization and extensions (e.g., Windows AD integration and client
- support)
- Map/maintain requirements traceability (capabilities→FORGE milestones→AD/client)
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline, with 6+ years of systems engineering experience supporting DoD or IC software-intensive programs, including participation in DoD acquisition lifecycle reviews (SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, TRR, FCA/PCA).
Systems Engineering, MBSE & Architecture
- Demonstrated experience applying DoD systems engineering processes in accordance with the DoDI 5000 series and INCOSE SE Handbook, using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to model and manage software architectures, interfaces/ICDs, and cross-domain integrations.
- Experience maintaining authoritative technical baselines within a System Architecture Model (SAM) or equivalent repository, including capture and management of software components, behaviors, and technical data.
- Proven ability to develop, deliver, and maintain configuration-controlled software engineering artifacts, including the SRS, SAD, and SDD, ensuring traceability, review readiness, and compliance with contract and program requirements.
Travel: Occasional travel (up to 10%) to support program reviews, integration activities, and coordination meetings at prime contractor or government facilities.
(Nice-to-haves) Credentials & Clearance
- Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline
- INCOSE ASE/CSEP, SysML, or equivalent certifications
