Software Engineer III

Kavaliro is seeking a Software Engineer III to support a client in Fort Meade, MD.

Job Description:
We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong experience developing and supporting cloud-native, microservices-based applications in a mission environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Java and Spring, containerized deployments, Kubernetes orchestration, and system monitoring, and can operate effectively within an Agile, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring frameworks
• Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications using Docker and container
• Support container orchestration using Kubernetes Monitor system health and performance using Grafana and Prometheus Use Git for source control and collaborative development
• Participate in Agile development processes, including planning, standups, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions

Required Qualifications:

• Experience using the Linux command line interface
• Experience developing microservices using Java and Spring Hands-on experience with Docker and container
• Experience with Kubernetes container orchestration
• Experience with system monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
• Experience using Git for version control

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices, including GitLab CI and ArgoCD
• Experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch for data indexing and retrieval
• Experience with Apache NiFi for dataflow management and ingestion
• Experience with the Amazon HCI platform
• Strong debugging, documentation, and communication skills Ability to work effectively in an Agile, multidisciplinary team environment

Location:

• Fort Meade, MD
• This position is onsite and there is no remote availability.

Clearance Requirement:

• Candidates must have an active TS/SCI security clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
• Applicant MUST hold a permanent U.S. citizenship for this position in accordance with government contract requirements.
