We have an exciting opportunity for an Electro-Mechanical Technician B to join our dynamic team in El Segundo, California.
This position's internal job code is Electro-Mechanical Technician B. Our team is currently hiring for labor grade 15.
Position Responsibilities:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Shift:
This position is primarily 1st shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives. Candidates must be able to work any shift assigned.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)

Position Responsibilities:
- Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis
- Assemble Electro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, and standard operating procedures
- Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail
- Use precision calibrated tools - torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
- Perform visual inspection of Electro-Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly and test procedures
- Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
- Document non-conformances and associated rework/repair
- Soldering and reworking of through-hole and SMT components
- Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating
- Other duties as assigned

- This is an hourly union-represented position governed by the Cabinet Makers, Millmen and Industrial Carpenters Union (CMM&IC Local 721).
- New hires and employees transferring from non-union roles may be required to attend or complete training within their 90-day probationary period. Continued employment is contingent on successfully completing the probationary period.
Security Clearance:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
- More than 1 year of experience following written and verbal work instructions
- Ability to use steady hand-eye coordination to work with small parts
- Capable of lifting 20lbs or more on a frequent basis
- Ability to stand and move (reach, bend, or stoop) to handle products for extended periods of time with only short breaks
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- More than 1 year of experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.g. avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays, etc.)
- More than 1 year of experience in Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability products
- More than 1 year of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications
- More than 1 year of experience working in a Clean Room environment
- More than 1 year of experience in electronics and electro-mechanical and PCB assemblies
- More than 1 year of experience mixing epoxy materials
- More than 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- More than 1 year of experience using a Microscope to inspect parts
- More than 1 year of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems
- More than 1 year of experience in J-STD-001 Soldering
- More than 1 year of experience using calipers, a force gauge and/or tweezers
- More than 1 year of experience using structures hand tools, test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers
