Responsibilities
The candidate will serve as Chief Architect (CA) and perform enterprise systems engineering and architecture activities required to specify, build, and maintain the systems engineering designs for the War Data Platform (Advana). The CA will design, prepare, and document systems engineering artifacts, including system designs, system interfaces, and Application Programming Interface (APIs), system development plans and roadmaps, system cost estimates, and system risk assessments. The CA prepares an analysis of alternatives for new tools and other platform components, and publishes evaluation criteria, tradeoffs, findings, and recommendations for inclusion in the System including designing, preparing, and documenting personnel-related system engineering artifacts for the System, including system roles and personas, role/persona responsibilities, role/persona security requirements, role/persona training requirements, and role/persona certification requirements. The CA will prepare and document the System's Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) design and framework covering the pillars applicable to the Department of War, coordinate with stakeholders, and lead the ZTA implementation plan.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BS 10-12 years of experience, MS 8-10 years of experience, PhD 5-7 years of experience
- Possess a minimum of an active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Five years of experience with Cloud Architecture, Systems Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Requirements Gathering, Business Process Requirement Engineering, and agile development practices
- Experience designing, building, and implementing enterprise-class system architecture(s) and designing qualities across the enterprise that match business needs (e.g., reliability, performance, maintainability, scalability, security, and usability) on projects of the size, scope, and complexity of the work and environment described in the TOR
- Experience developing solutions across a diverse and heterogeneous IT cloud environment, including aligning standards, frameworks, and security with overall business and technology strategy
- Experience in the Department of War Architecture Framework (DoWAF)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, or equivalent
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience highlighting proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java, Scala, C++, or similar)
- Experience in architecting and engineering federated multi-cloud solutions
- Experience leading architectural teams, developing strategic IT goals and roadmaps, and presenting material to senior Government officials
- Experience with data analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML) model development, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) development, secure application development, software lifecycle management, and DoW compliant cloud infrastructure
- Five years' experience in cybersecurity policies or information technologies related to DoW networks, classified networks, or communications systems in support of intelligence operations
- Experience engaging multiple stakeholders from the industry
- Experience with architecting and cloud-neutral, cloud-native, and open-source solutions
- One or more similar to the following professional certifications:
- Professional Cloud Solutions Architect (PCSA)
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) Solutions Architect (Professional)
- MS Certified Azure Solutions Architect (Expert)
- Google Cloud Certified Architect (Professional)
