SOSi is seeking a Personal Property Processing and Shipping Officer (PPPO/PPSO) to provide comprehensive personal property and passenger travel support to U.S. military and civilian personnel. This position serves as the central coordination office for Defense Personal Property Services and Commercial Travel Office (CTO) operations, ensuring compliance with Army, DoD, Joint Transportation, and service-specific regulations. The PPPO/PPSO provides comprehensive travel support, manages records, and delivers high-quality customer service across the assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Job Description

SOSi is seeking a Personal Property Processing and Shipping Officer (PPPO/PPSO) to provide comprehensive personal property and passenger travel support to U.S. military and civilian personnel. This position serves as the central coordination office for Defense Personal Property Services and Commercial Travel Office (CTO) operations, ensuring compliance with Army, DoD, Joint Transportation, and service-specific regulations. The PPPO/PPSO provides comprehensive travel support, manages records, and delivers high-quality customer service across the assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform front-office personal property services for permanent party military members and civilian government employees, in accordance with applicable Army, DoD, Joint Transportation regulations, and standard operating procedures including but not limited to:
- Inbound and outbound counseling
- Personally Procured Move (PPM) processing
- Excess cost collection (e.g., overweight entitlements)
- Assistance with claims
- Book shipments IAW Permanent Change of Station (PCS) order and assign the Government Bill of Lading (GBL).
- Provide expedited and specialized support for customers with short-notice or emergency movement orders or those unable to return for additional processing due to distance.
- Coordinate HHG shipping and storage.
- Create and process shipping records.
- Manage shipping and receiving of Unaccompanied Baggage (UB)
- Conduct group and individual counseling/briefings on personal property entitlements and responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and interface professionally with government personnel in an operational environment.
- Follow up with customers to complete Customer Satisfactions Survey (CSS).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active SECRET government security clearance.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in relevant work environment.
- Ability to deploy overseas and complete pre-deployment training and medical screening
- Experience in Personal Property Processing and Shipping, transportation, or installation logistics support.
- Working knowledge of DPS, JTR, DoDD 4500.9-R (DTR), PPCIG, and service-specific regulations.
- Strong organizational, customer service, and regulatory compliance skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and timely situations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory or lead experience preferred.

- The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of heavy materials, boxes, or equipment.
