Overview

i3 is seeking a JIRA Developer / Administrator to support a software integration facility on an Army contract. The selected candidate will provide technical expertise in the administration, customization, and development of the Atlassian JIRA platform to support software development, cybersecurity, and operational teams.

The JIRA Developer / Administrator will work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to design workflows, implement automation, and develop dashboards and reporting capabilities that support Agile development and project management processes.

This position requires a customer-focused approach and the ability to support both technical teams and end users across the organization.

Candidates must possess, or be able to obtain, a United States SECRET security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Atlassian JIRA environments, including configuration, upgrades, and system health monitoring.
  • Design, build, and deploy custom dashboards, reports, and filters to support development teams and leadership reporting requirements.
  • Develop and configure JIRA workflows, issue types, custom fields, and automation rules.
  • Assist work centers in defining and implementing Agile artifacts, including epics, stories, tasks, and workflows.
  • Build and maintain custom JIRA projects aligned with development and operational processes.
  • Identify and resolve JIRA-related defects, system issues, and enhancement opportunities.
  • Test newly developed configurations, customizations, and enhancements to ensure proper functionality and user requirements are met.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to support configuration management and project tracking.
  • Support integration of JIRA with other enterprise tools where applicable.
  • Perform upgrades, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance of existing JIRA projects and environments.
  • Support Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes by documenting workflows, procedures, and operational guidance.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and deliver solutions through completion.
  • Maintain awareness of cybersecurity practices, including DISA STIGs, RMF requirements, and system hardening considerations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant Atlassian platform capabilities and technologies.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in JIRA administration or development. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
  • Experience administering Atlassian JIRA Software or JIRA Service Management environments.
  • Experience designing JIRA workflows, dashboards, custom fields, and reporting structures.
  • Experience supporting Agile or DevSecOps development teams.
  • Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence administration
  • Experience with JIRA automation rules and scripting
  • Experience integrating JIRA with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working in DoD or RMF-compliant environments
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps or Agile development environments
  • Familiarity with REST APIs for JIRA integrations

  • Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
