Description

SAIC is seeking a Cloud Configuration Manager & Release Manager to support our program out of US Army Transportation Command in O'Fallon, Illinois. The Integrated Booking System (IBS) is the lead execution system of the Defense Transportation System for the global shipment of ocean cargo in support of all peacetime, wartime, contingency, and humanitarian relief operations where Government personnel are involved. IBS provides the US Army Transportation Command the capability to electronically procure commercial transportation services for the global strategic deployment of DOD-sponsored cargo.

The IBS suite of interoperable applications includes providing automated tools to support carrier contract requirement definition, rate and service solicitations and evaluation, vessel schedules, booking unit and sustainment cargo, producing shipment documentation, providing cargo offering and status information, providing payment information, and producing order, customs, and manifesting documentation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the IBS-CN Configuration Management process to identify, track, and manage the baseline Configuration Items (CIs) in an enterprise environment through their lifecycle for the Cloud team. Candidate will also be responsible for the Release process, ensuring timely delivery of all items following our release checklist and ensuring Software Release Notes are complete.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a baseline configuration for systems, ensuring they are documented and controlled.
  • Control and manage all configuration changes, ensuring they are properly documented, approved, and implemented.
  • Track and report on the status of configuration items, including version control and compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify the integrity and compliance of configurations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all configuration items and processes.
  • Review and update existing configuration management processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal team and Government counterparts to ensure smooth integration of configuration management practices.
  • Provide training and support to staff on configuration management processes and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards related to configuration management.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage all software releases to meet project and customer deadlines.
  • Ensure each release is seamless, timely, and aligns with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure readiness and completeness of each release.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in all areas of testing, builds, and documentation and in accordance with the PWS and IBS documentation guides.
  • Ensure that all release notes, checklists, and associated documentation are detailed, accurate, and completed promptly.
  • Maintain clear records of release processes, outcomes, and any issues encountered, facilitating continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Build Engineers/DevOps team and the Software Testing Team to ensure all aspects of the release lifecycle are effectively managed.
  • Oversee the deployment process, troubleshooting any issues that arise during and after releases.


Customer Interaction:
  • May be required to engage with high-level customers to provide support, recommendations, and strategic guidance.
  • Balance technical needs with customer experience improvements (e.g., UI and content refinement, support documentation).

Work Schedule:

Duties will primarily be performed during regular business hours (Monday through Friday). However, the candidate must be available to support planned or emergency events after hours or on weekends, as required. Position is hybrid between remote work and the SAIC O'Fallon, IL office. May be asked to attend meetings at Scott AFB, IL as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Active Security + certification
  • Experience with configuration management processes and tools
  • Experience track and reporting on the status of configuration items, including version control and compliance.
  • Knowledge of policies, external regulations, and industry standards related to configuration management.


Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
