Based on specific objectives, aid senior engineers with the analysis, test, documentation, and data review of complex designs. Study design concepts and criteria to ascertain knowledge of the engineering principles involved. Under the guidance of senior engineers, perform qualification testing, characterization testing, troubleshooting, and test data review of completed designs.
Job Responsibilities
Job Knowledge/Technical Skills - Basic understanding and application of company electrical engineering technical standards.
Problem Solving/Innovation - With guidance and direction from senior engineers, perform root cause analysis of failures involving complex assemblies.
Liaison - Actively and effectively participates and contributes in a positive manner.
Requirements Derivation / Test Development - Assist senior engineers in evaluating and documenting derived requirements and tests.
Risk and Uncertainty Quantification - Under senior engineering guidance assist with the evaluation of uncertainty and risks associated with requirements and designs.
Analysis and Design - Assist in the data collection and documentation for analyses involving one or more complex designs, components, or functional systems of company products.
Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Ability to execute development/characterization tests and performs basic analyses under the close supervision of senior engineers.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Solid understanding of digital and analog device types and their functionality.

- Ability to perform basic circuit analysis and troubleshooting.

- Supports the testing, evaluation/validation, and/or documentation of an electrical component, subsystem, or system analytical model or implementation.
Risk and Uncertainty Quantification - Under senior engineering guidance assist with the evaluation of uncertainty and risks associated with requirements and designs.
- Under close supervision, perform tests to characterize off-nominal operation of components.
Analysis and Design - Assist in the data collection and documentation for analyses involving one or more complex designs, components, or functional systems of company products.
- Use analytical engineering software tools such as MATLAB and Python to analyze and reduce data to identify key characteristics and trends.
- Participate in the testing and characterization of circuit or component level designs under direction and support of more experienced engineers.
