Position Overview
BOAB Ventures is seeking a skilled Forward Deployed Full-Stack Engineer to build the next-generation data management and artificial intelligence platform for maritime domain awareness. In this role, you will work on-site with customers writing code, integrating systems, and solving hard technical problems in the field. You are part engineer, part technical advisor, and wholly accountable for making the mission succeed.
Our work directly supports U.S. Navy operations, including collection and processing of SONAR data and deployment of sonobuoy sensors that gather edge data in the maritime environment. You will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects that directly impact warfighter capabilities and mission success.
Key Responsibilities
• Build out application components and pages for the data management and AI platform.
• Implement historical and real-time data feeds using WebGPU.
• Design and develop data models using Postgres and Apache Iceberg.
• Modify real-time data pipelines using MQTT and Redpanda.
• Modify offline data pipelines using Dagster for batch processing.
• Integrate and modify machine learning models and algorithms into the application.
• Improve local development and CI/CD workflows using modern tooling and GitHub Actions.
Required Skills & Experience
• Expertise in TypeScript.
• Expertise in CSS, including TailwindCSS.
• Experience with React and frontend frameworks such as Next.js.
• Familiarity with state management approaches such as React Context.
• Experience with Node.js, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
• Proficiency with SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Python.
Nice to Have
• Experience with IoT devices and sensors.
• Digital signal processing experience.
• Geospatial analysis and GIS experience.
• Familiarity with working in monorepos.
Clearance Requirement
An active U.S. Secret clearance is required for this position. Candidates must be clearance-eligible and able to maintain their clearance throughout employment.
