Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Model-Based System Engineer to support our client in Berkeley, MO. The Model-Based Systems Engineer will support cross-functional engineering teams in developing and integrating a complex, highly integrated air and weapons system. The engineer will collaborate with system architects, SMEs, and program leadership to implement and mature an MBSE-driven systems engineering approach across the program.
Responsibilities of the System Engineer include:
· Lead cross-functional engineering teams to meet project commitments and support technical reviews
· Implement and refine systems engineering processes, methods, and best practices
· Support MBSE execution as part of a broader digital engineering strategy
· Perform requirements decomposition, system architecture development, trade studies, risk management, planning, and integration activities in SysML-based tools
· Capture systems engineering artifacts within MBSE models, ensuring traceability to requirements and verification plans
· Apply interdisciplinary approaches to design, develop, and verify complex system solutions
Qualifications for the System Engineer include:
· Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or related technical discipline
· 5+ years of engineering experience and 4+ years of systems engineering experience
· Experience with MBSE tools such as MSOSA or other SysML-based modeling environments (e.g., Cameo)
· Experience using DOORS for requirements development and traceability
· Experience supporting verification, validation, and certification planning for complex systems
· Experience with defense aircraft, air vehicle systems, mission systems, avionics, or weapons systems engineering
· Experience working with software requirements, ICDs, and software verification activities
· Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for engineering workflow and documentation
· Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (Active Secret within last 24 months preferred)
Compensation for the System Engineer includes:
· Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000 depending on experience
