Data Scientist

Zachary Piper Solutions is in need of a Data Scientist ! This Data Scientist position supports Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). You will work directly with analysts and mission stakeholders to develop data-driven insights, build analytical models, and support AFSOC's modernization efforts across a range of operational and strategic missions. This position is based in Tampa, FL at MacDill AFB and is a fully onsite role. Top Secret Clearance is required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy analytical models for operational decision-making.
• Perform data cleaning, feature engineering, and exploratory analysis across structured and unstructured data.
• Build repeatable workflows and lightweight pipelines that support analytics and model execution.
• Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings.
• Collaborate with analysts, operators, and technical teams to translate mission needs into data science solutions.
• Use scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python) to automate tasks and build analytical tools.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in data science, analytics, or a related technical field.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry or Palantir platforms.
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting/programming languages.
• Strong understanding of data handling, basic modeling techniques, and SQL.
• Active Top Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in DoD or special operations environments.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Databricks, or other modern data platforms.
• Knowledge of MLOps or basic model deployment concepts.

Compensation:

• Salary: $100,000 - $160,000 *Depending on experience and labor category assignment*
• Health, Dental, Vision, PTO, Paid Holidays, 401K, Sick leave as required by Law
