General Function:
- Supported the application of configuration management (CM) principles to ensure product performance, functional, and physical attributes remained consistent with approved requirements, design baselines, and operational documentation throughout the system lifecycle.
- Assisted Government program offices in maintaining configuration baselines by reviewing technical documentation, engineering artifacts, and operational data for alignment with approved system configurations.
- Analyzed the impact of proposed configuration management changes on lifecycle sustainment, maintainability, logistics support, and long-term operational capability of weapon systems.
- Supported the development, review, and management of Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) deliverables to ensure compliance with contractual data submission requirements and program documentation standards.
- Maintained and updated electronic configuration and data management databases and toolkits to ensure accurate tracking, accessibility, and traceability of configuration information.
- Assisted with planning and execution activities associated with Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), ensuring readiness of documentation and technical evidence required for audit validation.
- Verified the adequacy, completeness, and traceability of configuration data used during System Verification Reviews (SVRs), FCAs, and PCAs to support program certification and acceptance activities.
- Participated in Government-led reviews, program management meetings, and technical working groups to address complex configuration management issues and coordinate cross-functional resolutions.
- Collaborated with Government and industry teams to evaluate technical configuration concerns and develop solutions supporting program compliance, cost control, and operational readiness.
- Assisted in developing and maintaining the Configuration Control Board (CCB) charter, ensuring defined governance procedures for evaluating, approving, and implementing configuration changes.
- Supported planning, scheduling, documentation, and execution of Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings to facilitate review and decision-making on engineering and configuration change requests.
- Assisted in reviewing, developing, and updating program documentation to ensure configuration and data management requirements were properly incorporated into program plans and technical baselines.
- Identified and documented all relevant sources and uses of configuration management data to support traceability, program oversight, and lifecycle management decisions.
- Assisted Government stakeholders in assessing the operational, sustainment, and supportability impacts of proposed configuration changes and provided findings and recommendations to support decision making.
- Supported conflict resolution activities by analyzing differing engineering change proposal recommendations and proposing technically viable solutions for Government consideration.
- Conducted configuration identification activities by reviewing program specifications, hardware and software documentation, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate definition of configuration items (CIs) and software configuration items (CSCIs).
- Assisted in requesting nomenclature assignments and Computer Program Identification Numbers (CPINs) for configuration items to ensure standardized identification within program documentation and systems.
- Verified that configuration items and associated documentation were correctly marked, controlled, and approved prior to placement on contract for establishment or update of Government-controlled baselines.
- Reviewed Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Contract Change Proposals (CCPs), and Requests for Deviation (RFDs) for proper format, completeness, and compliance with configuration control requirements.
- Supported configuration status accounting (CSA) activities by determining database requirements, monitoring configuration data input, tracking fielded system configurations, and maintaining accurate records of configuration baseline documentation and approved changes.
Qualifications:
Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
- Master's degree (MA/MS) and ten years of relevant experience OR BA/BS degree, and 12 years of relevant experience.
- Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Secret level.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft programs (including Excel, Word, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project).
- Must be able to perform all functional duties independently.
- Must be able to transport self to various facility sites, as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
