Our teams manage, operate, and maintain the U.S. Navy's Inactive Ship fleet across multiple locations including Philadelphia, Bremerton, and Hawaii. Supporting this important mission requires dedicated professionals across many disciplines-including finance and accounting.

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our team in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, supporting financial operations for our Navy contract.

What You'll Be Doing:

Assisting the Budget Analyst with financial audits and preparation of required financial reports and statements.
Maintaining control of activity funds through accurate data entry across multiple accounting systems.
Preparing and auditing employee timecards and making timekeeping entries for payroll preparation.
Validating employee pay status (PTO, LWOP, etc.) and verifying approved PTO and overtime requests.
Auditing employee timecards and timesheets daily to verify accuracy, obtain required signatures, and resolve discrepancies.
Preparing bi-weekly payroll for submission to the Corporate Finance Office, including required ADP, PTO, Costpoint, and leave reports.
Reconciling PTO reports with Corporate/ADP on a bi-weekly basis.
Tracking employee absences and tardiness and providing daily reports to the Project Manager and Human Resources.
Establishing and maintaining employee records in Work Management System (WMS) and Costpoint.
Supporting preparation and maintenance of Public Vouchers documenting payroll, purchasing, and travel expenditures.
Assisting with transmission of vouchers through the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) government payment system.
Maintaining labor and job cost accounting records, including RRWO, TDL, and ACRN tracking.
Supporting purchasing and accounts payable processes including purchase orders, invoices, receiving documents, and vouchers.
Maintaining voucher files by voucher number and ensuring proper documentation and sequencing.
Processing employee travel claims, validating receipts and charges, entering travel costs in WMS, and coordinating reimbursement or recoupment with Corporate Finance.
Assisting with preparation of contract-required reports and projections for the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
Supporting preparation of WMS Work Orders and ACRNs.
Maintaining payroll, accounting, and voucher records in accordance with corporate policies and contract requirements.
Working professionally and collaboratively with employees, management, government representatives, and subcontractors.
Adhering to corporate core values, policies, and procedures in the execution of all responsibilities.
Performing other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
Minimum:

Associate Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with three (3) years of related experience, OR five (5) years of related accounting/payroll experience.
Proficiency in Excel and operating a personal computer.
General computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Strong accounting, mathematics, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to analyze financial documents and maintain precise records.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Trusted Agent Security Clearance.
Preferred:

Experience with payroll processing and payroll systems.
Experience with Costpoint, WMS, ADP, or similar accounting/payroll systems.
Understanding of government contract accounting and job cost accounting (RRWO/TDL/ACRN).
Experience with accounts payable, purchasing systems, and government invoicing processes.
Experience working in a military, ship maintenance, or government contracting environment.
