The Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Operating Unit (OU) partners with regulated defense industry customers to modernize, secure, and scale their digital environments using Microsoft Cloud and AI. Our customers operate in complex, high-security environments and support critical national missions across manufacturing, aviation, cybersecurity, and advanced technology domains.

The DIB OU manages strategic and major DIB accounts across Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) Americas while enabling growth across the broader organization. We build trusted relationships, modernize legacy systems, and help customers adopt secure, resilient, and scalable cloud solutions with confidence.

We are seeking a Security Cloud Solution Architect (CSA) with experience in multiple Cloud based security technologies and other Microsoft technologies to serve as a trusted technical advisor. This role owns the technical relationship with customers and partners, translates complex business and technical requirements into secure cloud architectures, removes adoption blockers, and accelerates value realization through effective delivery and orchestration.

As a CSA, you act as the voice of the customer and partner, leveraging insights and feedback to shape solutions, guide adoption, and scale impact across accounts. You collaborate across Microsoft teams and partners, contribute to virtual teams, and operate with strong operational discipline to drive customer success, usage, and consumption growth.

Responsibilities

Business Impact
  • Deliver solutions aligned with Microsoft methodologies and proven practices, including value-based deliverables (VBDs), technical guidance, and architectural validation to prepare customers for operational readiness and long-term success.
  • Guide customers toward well-architected, secure, resilient, AI-enabled, and cost-optimized solutions that support business outcomes, retention, and expansion.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for consumption, usage, and Unified expansion based on customer value and Microsoft platform capabilities.
  • Proactively manage and mitigate technical and business risks by applying governance principles, industry knowledge, and operational excellence standards.
  • Capture and progress opportunities using appropriate systems and tools, aligning execution to Microsoft's Customer Engagement Model and business priorities.
Customer Centricity
  • Act as the voice of the customer and partner, sharing insights, feedback, and success patterns with internal teams to inform solution improvements and roadmap discussions.
  • Translate customer and partner challenges into Microsoft-aligned solutions, clearly articulating business value and return on investment through proofs of concept, MVPs, or rapid prototypes.
  • Build strong relationships with technical and business decision makers, including CIO, CISO, and other executive stakeholders, bridging security, compliance, operational, and risk considerations.
  • Define and measure customer conditions of success, anticipate adoption challenges, and execute strategies that improve customer experience and accelerate transformation.
Partner Engagement
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities that align with revenue and customer outcomes, co-selling and co-delivering solutions with partners.
  • Collaborate with Global Partner Solutions (GPS) stakeholders to translate market opportunities into actionable partner-led solutions.
  • Guide partners in developing repeatable offerings, practices, and solutions, supporting early customer implementations and scalable delivery models.
Technical Leadership
  • Role model technical readiness across priority solution areas and corporate initiatives, including security, resiliency, and AI.
  • Mentor peers and contribute to team readiness by sharing best practices, architectural guidance, and technical insights.
  • Identify delivery gaps and patterns that inform improvements to products, intellectual property (IP), frameworks, and methodologies, enabling solutions to scale.
  • Contribute to virtual teams, internal communities, and external engagements by sharing technical thought leadership, architecture insights, and lessons learned.
  • Participate in industry and technical community activities that elevate Microsoft's brand and strengthen internal capability.


Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, or a related field AND 4+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, IT consulting or support, systems administration, network operations, software development or support, technology solutions, architecture, or consulting
    OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: - The successful candidate must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination. -

Clearance Verification: This position requires successful verification of the stated security clearance to meet federal government customer requirements. You will be asked to provide clearance verification information prior to an offer of employment.

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government clearance.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in a customer-facing role (internal and/or external).
  • 4+ years of experience delivering or supporting technical projects.
  • Cloud or security certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).


Cloud Solution Architecture IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
