Applicants will be rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties at the level for which you are applying. Emphasis is placed on how you gained the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time, and the required ability or potential to perform the job. Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition.

Physical Effort
Incumbent is often required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and to bend, stoop, and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Employee may lift and carry items that weigh up to 40 lbs. The heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
Working Conditions
Works inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted and is regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock or mechanized conveyor systems and may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and solvents and to high noise levels in mechanized work areas. When working in hazardous materials areas, employee may be subject to exposure from radiation, toxins, explosive hazards, or chemical fumes. work may require wearing protective clothing such as hard-hats, steel toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and rubber aprons. NOTE: Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain all appropriate country, state, and/or government licensing.

Drug-Free Workplace: The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has established a Drug-Free Federal Workplace Policy. - Works in hazardous materials storage areas requiring specialized handling and storage procedures according to regulatory and safety requirements.
- Responds to inquiries, provides track and trace on material, and reports issues delaying shipment to management, operations, and transportation.
- Establishes deadlines, priorities and work sequences to be followed.
- Explains the more difficult technical requirements to be performed. Ensures regulatory, economic, safe, efficient and judicious use of available resources.
- Ensures discrepancies with frustrated material are communicated and trend analysis/solution implementation are conducted on a reoccurring issues.
